Pick up sniper kit

Ok. Lets get straight to the point with this suggestion.
-Remove those anti material sniper pick up kits from the maps and make it a requestable kit.
-Make it available only when there will be more than 25 (or even more) players per side on server, in this case there will be only one anti material rifle per side on full populated server.
-Make it real anti material rifle and increase the damage so you can destroy a Humvee with 4-6 shots (or something like it), penetrate bulletproof glass, etc, right now it's already one shot kill against infantry so increasing damage realy doesn't matter.
-Make this kit more realistic, remove dual uzis (leave one if you like this SMG :razz

, give one more mag.
Main reasons why I'm suggesting it:
- there will be no "Race for Holly Graal" on some maps,
- both sides will be having access to that kind of weapon (well, maybe except for insurgents and militia but you can always give them more tickets or other equipment),
- personally I think that eastern egg pick up kit is not realistic (and this mode is called project reality), of course you can always made up a story to explain why this kit is lying here or there.
So, what do you think about it?
PS. If that kind of suggestion was already suggested than please lock this tread (I was searching but I couldn't find it).

I think, there was Anti-Sniper kit in 0.4, which was basically the M95, never played 0.4 on live servers, so I don't know, how that played out.
I'd actually like to have these rifles removed from all the maps, so people stop racing to their spawns, lone wolfing around for them and b*tch, how 1337 they are with it.

I don't like the anti material sniper rifles being in PR in the first place. But if they are here to stay I totally agree with your suggestion. Make a "standard" requestable sniper kit and "heavy" requestable sniper kit (M82/M95...) with no pickup kits for conventional armies. Let's just have 1 "standard" sniper kit and 1 "heavy" sniper kit but increase the server population requirements to 20-25 players for the "heavy" one to be requested.

Actually, increase the limit for standard one to 25 and 'heavy' should be 30, because it's ridiculous, when you have 16 vs. 16 and someone still manages to get a sniper kit :/

yeah, i agree with outlawz 2 snipers and 2 marksmen aside should be enough all of a sudden you have 9 or more guys runing with specialized kits wich is almost 1/3 of a team.

I do quite like the idea of having .50 cals, but not as pickups. Does anyone, most likely bob, know if they have much use anymore as anti-material rifles for buggering up light armour, or are they more for stupidly long range sniping which isn't needed or possible in PR?

A better idea (Instead of clogging the request menu with a new Heavy Sniper kit or something) might be to use something similar to OPK's upgrade system. In this case, one of the two snipers can upgrade their bolt-action 7.62mm rifle to a semi-automatic .50 caliber anti-material rifle. To make them hard to come by, snipers can only upgrade their kit at a CO deployed bunker or firebase. So in effect you still only have 2 snipers on the map, just that one has the chance of using the large caliber rifle over the standard.

I think you forget one very important thing.
MECs and Chinese running around with M95 ?
Somebody would have to model some equivalent for other teams than US and Brits (such as KSVK).

I think the pickupkits should stay, but act like the weapon caches on basrah; mapper places like 10 spots, and the kits spawn randomized at one of those places.

I say YES! Great idea I like how on Basrah you see all Brits ahd insrgents in cxars racing each otehr to teh spot then you see a battle.

Scrap 'em. They add virtually nothing to gameplay other than a fifth sniper to the playing field.

Anyone know what the deal with anti-material rifles is then? It'd be nice to think they had a use against something and might be useful on a couple of maps.

how about we move them around in every map. make them again a holy grail item that only a very few people know where they are and you more likely to stumble on some one with it

Sheffield theres a typo in your sig
I think they need to be out. I dont care though... I never experience the race for them because im never in a squad with the ones who race for them...
But yeah, to me just knowing that dual uzis are in PR is kinda...blehhh

38-0 last night on basrah before I kind of gave up and went insurgent.
At several points I actually used the uzi's quite successfully in wiping out 3 insurgents before knifing a civilian.

They could juet get a M95 as a placeholder. But i really like the idea od requestable anti material rifles. If they would actually be affective against vehicles. Im talking about one shot kills on humvies, but maybe
6-7 or something.

Yes, I'm aware of it, but it's only a suggestion and not a "ready to go" project, that's why I skipped it.
Anti material rifles are present in many modern armies so there is a lot to choose from (MECs and Chinese doesn't have to run around with M95)
