Timed reinforcement for squads?

It would work much like it does for Day of Defeat if anyone has ever played. Basically it will work like this:

-Squad of 6
-Squad member A dies
-Squad reinforcement timer starts (30 seconds)
-10 seconds pass, SM B dies
-28 seconds pass, SM C dies
-30 seconds pass, all three Squad members respawn
-Squad member D dies, timer restarts

I don't know if it will work to well, but it could reinforce the idea of squad together-ness and that.

Thoughts?

It maybe a little bit unfair for the players, SM "A" have to wait 30 seconds to respawn, SM "B" 20 seconds and SM "C" only 2 seconds.

If he's the first to die, he's the first to die. No way around that. That is just a particular instance anyway, but someone would have to die for the whole 30 seconds.

it would bring squads together and for once people would learn to work with smaller squads.


although it might bring on suicide rushes.

The only good i see about this is that the squad mates would spawn together so they would move together and thats never bad.

This could be problematic in certain situations, ie camping. I think this was originally why the feature was not carried into BF2. Imagine what would happen if an APC drove up to the rally point the second your entire squad gets in. That's 6 guys down immediately.

and whats the diference from spawning one by one ?

1) i dont think its possible, someone tried a long time ago and could never get it to work right.

2) what about reviving? id rather get that 30 second chance to get revived then only 5 second chance and spawn back in. maybe thats just me though

Arg, damnit you're right. This can be locked as the 2nd thing he brought up is quite right. And since it's been tried before, i guess it's not possible.

devs tryed to remove the zoom in the comander possition in 0.4 , failing , they said it was hardcode . they tryed again in 0.6 , and that attemp was sucefull , so things that werent possible in the past MAY be possible now .

also , foz the point 2 of fuzz can be :

you die , 30 sec of critical wonded , and then the time start , like 10 seconds to respawn , so if somebody die 5 seconds afther you , he will keep the 30 sec critical wonded time , but afther wait just 5 seconds to respawn .
