Welcome
If you have BF2 patched to ver. 1.41 then download your PR 0.61 client here
https://www.realitymod.com/filelinks.html
Read the manual (you will be also able to find shortcut on your desktop after installing PR).

That's it, you are ready to go...

Hey Emitrepus, welcome to the community man. Don't be shy in telling your squad-mates you're new to the mod. You'll be pleasantly surprised by our maturity and acceptance of new players.

And a big and warm welcome to another man succesfully converted to PR!
Ye, no worries, mate. Just let your SL know you're new. Or use the in-game team-chat and people will probably say things like 'hey, join my squad, no problem' or whatever.
Just make sure you've read the Wiki Guide. I know you just want to play, but take a few minutes to browse around, see what possibilities PR has to offer

You do not need any of the BF2 booster packs and you use VOIP to talk ingame. The default key is B.

You can use your previous account to play PR it doesn't change anything in your BF2 game unlocks (I hope so

).

If you have BF2 patched to version 1.41 than all you need is to download and install PR full client ver.0.613.
Client patch is only for those who have earlier version of PR (0.609 AFAIK) and want to update it to 0.613.

You should ask yourself on that one
I use teamspeak to communicate with my clanmates and VOIP to communicate with others in my squad.
Having teamspeak is not one of the requirements in PR, it's up to you to decide.
If you need to use teamspeak, use it. If you don't need it, don't use it.
(simple solutions are the best

Welcome to PR. It's good to see others from Asia get into the game, as I have seen only a handful so far. Just curious, who are you using for internet service? If Globe, what is the speed?
Pretty much when you install the PR full client, you will load up the game just like you do normal BF2, only you will be using the PR shortcut on your desktop to launch the game. Once in, and it asks for your login, you just use your normal BF2 EA account information. PR and all other mods do not require a new login or account, you just log in like a normal MP game.
BF2 has a built-in voice chat system that lets you speak with your squad. Teamspeak is a third-party program that allows you to talk to others who might not be in your squad. I rarely use TS while in a game, although if you are part of a clan/group then using TS will help you communicate between battles and while loading up.
Don't worry about being new to PR either. Every person playing it has been new at one time, and we all try to respect each other. Many of us help out the new players when we can, and the best advice has already been posted. Read the online guide over and over, and go back to read it again between sessions. Another thing to do is join a squad as much as you can. They will help show you the ropes and learn the tricks. Many things have changed compared to the original game, but you should catch on quickly.
If you have any friends that like to play similar games, you should show them PR and see if they want to join you. I have several friends on the Manila Airsoft Team who love this mod, just don't have the high-speed internet to play it.
Off topic, which shchool are you going to? You have chosen a pretty good career field, very popular and good income. And it can be pretty fun.

Well first of all i haven't introduce myself im Andrew Ong from philippines im 21, still student, 1st year taking up Aircraft Maintenance Technology from Clark Polytechnic (Clark Air Base now known as Clark Freeport, former American Airbase long time ago) hmmm... im an aircraft enthusiast, i play flight simulators like MSFlightsim, FA-18 Falcon, RC Flightsim, RC Planes and stuff, also i graduated an Associate course which is Computer Technician from AMA Computer Learning Center, I play RAGNAROK ONLINE, RF ONLINE, and other games like COUNTER STRIKE, DOTA (not really dicted to it) still many to mention.... anyway... hmmm... My connection is SMARTBRO 384KBPS well i know its poor connection but, i cant boost it up when i play online i dont really lagg its a matter of having a split second delay sometimes you cant really miss that split second delay because the game buffs... anyway anything else to add or questions about me? Thanks for your kind help i really Appreciate it!!!

Clark is a nice place to visit, but it gets a little crowded at times with the tourists. It's also the only place in the PI I have been able to find for skydiving. At least the Duty Free shops are still there.
Your connection isn't too bad. I would try running the PR mod on a few low-population servers at first so you can adjust your video settings. It will take some tweaking, because PR uses a lot more system resources than the original BF2. You might have to lower a few settings, and there is a guide somewhere on the forums about recommended settings.
I have 10MBps connection speed, and even on a good server I get lag at times. It's not a super problem, so I think you will be fine. When ever I visit Manila I try to play a couple online games at the cafes in the malls, funner than Timezone at times. Even though the speed is lower than the average American connection, I didn't notice much lag. Not sure where most of the PR servers are located, but you might be able to connect to some better than I can.
I look forward to seeing you in game, if you have any other questions please feel free to ask. There are many players of PR who are prior or current military personnel, and we all seem to agree that this mod is pretty fun. Once you play a few games and get the hang of it, you won't want to play vBF2 again.
