civilians getting kicked?

Well i was playing in Basrah with a full squad...me and the squad were scanning through the city looking for the caches when an insurgent civilian tags along with us and tells us not to shoot....
he was helpful repairing our vehichles, giving us health, and taking us on roofs with his grappling hook....
sadly though an admin saw this and kicked him from the server...
i think this is realistic cause in real life, civilians do help coalition forces...

If there was a third "civilian" class that could decide who to help without seeing the locations of every insurgent on his map, without knowing all the ammo cache locations, and without taking away from the numbers on the insurgent team, I'd agree with you.
Think of it this way. IRL, civilians help coalition forces. But the admin was just playing the part of the insurgents that find and kill the helpful civilians.

A 3rd 'Civilian' team that is hostile to neither side would be good but I fear the old 'HARDCODED' stamp would approach that idea...
Perhaps if BOTH sides had identical civilian kits, neither showing up on radar unless spotted. The only difference being if Ins. shot a Coal. Civy they'd get the opposite of the usual bonuses of a 'capture' (so Coalition would LOSE 7 intel points), but by shooting their own they would get a teamkill and a suitable punishment.

Would be fun - but i'd make a difference in the equipment too, the coalition-civilian shoudnt have stones, the soldiers should protect him instead - and they should get punished for a teamkill AND for killing a civilian if killing them, imo.
But i dont know if that would be possible... at least i would like it. Maybe as limited kit.

No, in PR it's bs. The Insurgent has detailed knowledge of the cache locations using the top down map. That would ruin the gameplay, and that civi is a *******. The only way something like this would be OK is if there was a civi class on the Brit team.

You play the role you are given. Its a FPS not a fantasy adventure where you make up your own character

now when im thinking about it that would just make it easier for the british to win on Basrah, something we could do without

No one said anything about him giving away cache locations, just giving a helping hand getting onto roofs etc.

Stupidest post yet......this sh*t don't fly. Not only does the Civi know exactly where very cache is, this is not how the game was intended to play. I hope that civi got banned for months.

For all you know he may have been about to lead the squad into an ambush giving a false sense of security, we often (say all)post Grid references to lure brits into areas good for setting up an ambush.. works well

i miss read the post as well, civi wasn't helping his own side, he was helping the other team looking for the caches
(should have made that clear in the first post)
THE CIVI WAS HELPING THE OPPOSING TEAM

Well he may not have been giving cache locations, but the fact is that he was helping the other team. And that the insurgents then have one less player fighting on their side, and that's cheating. If I go on one team to give limited kits to my buddies on the other team, it's cheating because I'm sabatoging my own team. This guy was sabatoging his team by helping the enemy. He deserved his kick.

What good would that do? A Civi helping out a team isnt a big deal, He could have also been co-ordinating ambushes over Ventrillo or teamspeak at the very same time.
For all you know he was just leading them into a trap to kill that squad.

For all you know he was cheating. If he wanted to conduct ambushes, he should have made it clear to his team via text, so that admins could see.
