bridges (I suggested it before, but didn't really get any replies)

special bridge:
- has a switch to pull it down or take up
- is a CP
- tactical needed so they can bring in vehicles
(and maybe reversed ticket bleed, to give the idea of bringin supplies(?)
i think it would be great in some jungle maps becouse most jungle parts arent accesable by vehicles

pretty good idea. Though might be quite hard to make.

I think it is possible, there are working elevators in BF2:SF (eg. on the carrier -> Iron Gator map, Nuke missile launch bunker -> Surge map)

I just though of something. I thought you can't stand on moving objects but yet you can stan on an elevator thats moving?

World is strange
Maybe you can't stand on a moving vehicle but you can stand on a moving static (just a theory, I don't know sh*t about python and coding)... oh well, the fact is, elevators are possible with the BF2 engine.

its possible to do, would require a new model but more importantly would need a map that it would fit in... you dont just dump any old static in any old map
biggest problem is that it would have no sounds as no one has found any way to get the sounds working out of local, or in the "xpack" mod, think EA hard coded it so only the sounds would work some how in BF2 SF.

Well, I did notice that in BF2: SF the elevator likes to stutter sometimes, so being being carried down and up isn't that smooth

ye, depends on the servers FPS and ping. happens with the OGT door too, works as smooth as a nut on a local server (+ has sound)

(the whole bridge, for PR it can be a bit more shorter i think)

thats exactly the kind of model i thought of

and you see the work of the bridge, it can cut of enemie troop support (so its a vital asset)
i think this is a realistic bridge that you can find in desert city and jungle environment !

When hell freezes over, pretty much.
EA is like that. They screw things up and then don't let others fix them.

i do like the idea very much, there'll be some massive fights for this bridge. Everyone will want it it'll be like fighting for the VCP but bigger

I suspect it's got more to do with the fact that the lift goes up and down rather than sideways - so gravity lets the player drop down incrementally as the lift descends slower than the game's gravity pulls the player down, and on the way up it simply pushes the player's model upwards- slow enough that it doesn't cause impact damage.
Only a hunch, but knowing the BF2 engine it sounds like it's something they'd leave in that kinda state.

But, your not meant to be on the bridge when it opens or closes, so it shouldn´t matter? If you are, well tough luck...

Ok then lets build a bridge.......where's my spanner, hmm.....

Another idea would maby be that the elevators on carriers would lift up aircraft from the inside of the carrier. Would be cool
(Like you taxi onto the elevator and then you need someone to press the button and up you go)
But that would require a bit bigger carriers too...
Oh and In Aromored Fury (I think) there is these moving bridges. Leviathan is the name of the map (inside the submarine base).
