agreed + all air vehicles should have an increased amount of flairs and a faster, more realistic reload/deployment.

as geze says , we can asume that flares also contain chaffts .
IMO, IR missils(sa7,stinger,the AA hummve, chopper missils and sidewinters ) should not give look waringn , and radar misils (tunguska ,r77s,type95 and linebraker?) should .

No technology exists that warns choppers and jets of an IR lock. what happens is that systems monitor a missile launch and activate flares so yeah the IR lock tone should be removed

We can't have the Tunguska missiles give a warning and an SA-7 give one since we're only allowed to have two target object types (laser/thermal).

I agree, that the pilots should get a warning, when the missile is already fired, not when it's still locking on.

So the Tunguska, R77, and Type 95 are the only systems in game that use radar guidance, while the rest use infrared. I think given that the majority of the AA systems are infrared the tone should be triggered by missile launch, as above. Since there are only two target object types this is a broad categorization of the missiles, but they're already broadly categorized, and badly.

as my post stated, it is after a missile launch that flares should be deployed not when locking on

After the missile is fired you wouldn't even have a chance to deploy flares since the speed of the missile is so high. I say remove the lock-on warning from handheld AA weapons and keep the warning for mobile AA assets if it is possible.

there should still be a warning of an incoming missile even from hand held AA

At least what I know many choppers irl constantly drop single flairs to avoid lock ons by any type of missiles. I think that at least the transport chopers should have this constant flare-dropping as its very hard to do an missile-avoiding movement if a missile is detected with them, they are just too big and slow.
My vote for shorter reload time for the flares too
