[Question] bomb effects?

how do increase the size of the e_exp_XlargePR. i have tried somethings with the tweak file but it does not appear to have any affect ingame.

What are you trying it on?C4(IED)
If so you need to use e_exp_large. ;)

New muzzle blast from the M82? "One Shot, One Kill"....namely killing the person firing the weapon. Perfect alternative to removing them as pickup kits.

Ok, and now for the serious question. Is there a list of all those codes and what they are used for? I'm thinking of getting into coding myself to help in the community more, curious if all that data is in print form already.

no not something as simple as change what effect the bomb uses, i want to change the effect, i was looking around the e_exp_XlargePR.tweak and i found this

ObjectTemplate.randomSize 0.5
ObjectTemplate.particleMaxSize 7

i would think it would have something to do with the amount or size of the effect but it did not seem to have any effect in game. to make a effect bigger do you have to redo the animation or can you just change some values?

You can just change values I think.If you want to make bigger explosion you also need to change delay and slower dust effect to make it more real and nicer.
What are you trying it on? IED,C4 or plane bombs
Coz if you are trying it on c4,ieds you need to edit other file.(e_exp_large.tweak)

I had this problem also :) Those are the right values, the particle size is how big well the particle is. The randomsize goes something like this

'The randomness is measured from 0 to 1, (meaning 0% to 100%).

If the particle life time is set as 10sec, and the Var Random value is set to 1, the particle life time is randomized to be between 0 to 20 sec(+/- 100%). If Var Random is set to 0.3, the particle life time is randomized to between 7 and 13 seconds (+/- 30%).'
(Taken from a crysis tutorial :P )

When you setup the editor you unzipped the files, and when you make a change to the files it goes into the folders and not the .zip's so you just want to move the file you changed from the folders over into the .zip's. (Make sure your not editing your actual PR folder! Make a pr_edit)

so if i were to increase ObjectTemplate.particleMaxSize 7 to 14 and
ObjectTemplate.randomSize 0.5 to 0 the bomb should be twice as big?
when ever i increase the size of ObjectTemplate.particleMaxSize, the effect seems to get smaller and it looks like ****.

is there a max partical size for effects? i have been trying to change the size with no luck, i have increased the partical size by 10x and still no effect in game.

yes, i have changed it and it changes it in the bf2 editor but no change in game, i have made the bomb effect like 10x bigger in the editor but it did not change in game when i changed the same values.

what have i done wrong? i have changed the ObjectTemplate.randomSize 0.5 to 0 and the ObjectTemplate.particleMaxSize to 16,50,300, then i save it zip the whole objects_server_patch and done. i have changed the time so it lasts longer but the size wont change can you please say what i am doing wrong?

If your editing say, Effects > Weapons > Misc > e_hgr_smokegrenade you would change it up in the editor, save it and then go into your objects FOLDER (Not the zip) and browse to effects > weapons > misc > e_hgr_smokegrenade. Grab the two files in there and drag them into objects_server.zip > Effects > Weapons > Misc > e_hgr_smokegrenade

i am not using the editor to edit it, i can do that with the tweak file easy. so i edit the tweak file and do what you say and the only thing that seems to take effect is the time the effect stays.
