Lock-able HAT?

Hello!

First of all: I searched in the 'Already suggested suggestions' and with the search function but I couldn't find anything.

I want to suggest Heavy Anti-Tank Weapons with which you can lock up enemy tanks (similar to the square-AA-lockup system inside jets etc.). I often heard people complaining about shooting HAT on infantry likewise on other things (for example commander assets). Well if you could change them so you can shoot on armoured vehicles like tanks/apc/AAs per lockup only, it would be much better. If you think that HAT would be too imba so just post your opinion. You could also reduce the amount of kits for this weapon to 1 or give only 1 rocket for it.

I don't know if it's possible to change it. If not I'm sorry ;-)

Cheers 8)

you mean like the javelin?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FGM-148_Javelin

think its a good idea, but it would make it really easy to kill tanks.

From my experience the HAT is so damned fast you don't need to lockon, just point'n'click!

The tank's smoke could be used like flares are used for AA missiles. The smoke has almost no use right now, accept for retreating when tank vs tank.

There is that kind of AT locking system in N@W (nations at war) mod (the name of that AT system is Javelin AFAIK).

(I can post some screenshots if you want ;) )

I do have to say here, that there is an AA kit for air targets; if you're asking for a lock-on for the HAT to use against air targets... Why do we have an AA kit? :P

well if this is implemented we have no use for tanks anymore. unless they find a way to increase the max player number. hows that going anyways?

Yeah that's what I mean. I'm talking about man-portable anti-tank guided missiles fired with very high precision. Sure that's really hardcore but the suggestion to reduce the kits is very good. Also the idea with the smoke against lock-up ;)

Well, that's how it is in real. A Javelin is very expensive, so why don't reduce the kits to one per game or something. Or let it be requestable with 6 squad members... well there are some solutions and this would be really great.

IMO I think they should keep the wire guided system but make it where you have to be targeting a vehicle sorta like that lock to be able to fire it so you cant use it on infantry.

as much controversy as i know this will cause, i still think you should be able to shoot the HAT at anything you want. a lone enemy infantryman running off the in distance? no i dont think you should use a HAT against him. but a lone sniper in a bunker pinning down your squad? i think thats fair game. or an enemy squad. so limiting the HAT kit to only being able to engage vehicles would really ruin it for people like me who are creative with the kits usefulness. you know in real life they use them for more than just vehicles.

H-AT is for heavy vehicles. L-AT is for light vehicles and fortifications. Nilla noob comment.

If you have a $2000 rocket that can do the same job as a $25,000 rocket in real life, you dont use wire guided of anything but vehicles.

Locking this thread since the Javelin has been suggested before.
