is the spotting system really that real? i think that the spotting system should be removed and people would have to use voip to point out targets, cus right now you have a gps location of the target that is updated every second and i really dont think that is real for every troop on the field to have. i understand that this is on the already suggest thread but i am just wondering what people think about removing it.

well considering were not trained soldiers and we dont have a detailed map and so on thats not a good idea in my opinion. plus you can mark a target on youn gps the send it to the rest of you team irl

Actually the question here is, if we should have autospotting available. Most are annoyed, when they try to crawl past and someone Q spamming spots them out.

Which is why there is a limit to how often you can use the spot function in a certain amount of time. As far as I know, in real life, a treat like a tank would be passed up along the chain of command, and then relayed back to the people who might need to know about it, so it isn't that unrealistic.

I think it should be removed for a better and realistic gameplay. Imagine this situation, a squad is moving up and a soldier sees somebody and insted of just Q-spot, he says by Voip that there is someone, probally a enemy, near them. Then, the squad first take cover and the soldier tells where he saw the suspect and the SL marks on the map where they should go or act.
The terror feeling will be great, because you dont know where the enemy is and you dont know where he is moving. With the spot system, you can see the red dot moving around the map

Works great until you find yourself playing at 4am, unable to use the mic for risk of waking up an entire household ... or like me, who trod on said headset and cannot afford a new one at the moment.

How about when you Q spot something/someone the icon stays where it was when you spotted the unit, like when you hold Q rightclick and select a unit type, except it still autoidentifys the target and shows the current heading? this way everyone would know where and what it is your spotting and where it is looking without giving everyone the ability to track the target out of line of sight, behind buildings and such.

Been hearing this line a lot recently, on a lot of threads. I understand the DEVs making these posts... but i gotta say its making the wait for 0.7 like watching a kettle boil, very painful. Been hearing hype for 0.7 since before the release of 0.6! So many hinted at changes.. my patience is critical

ops: - bring on Xmas

Not sure whether it's just me but I find it hard to spot infantry a lot of the time so without the spotting i'd be more clueless than I already am.

Sometimes you can spot the enemy that is hidding behind the hill, that is unrealistic for sure.

i think this could solve some problems but it could also create some, i think it would have to be tested to really see the impact, and not the type of testing omg i cant spot i hate this.
