Question about VOIP-do you use it?

and how much?
I tend to play the quiet, strong type and keep my communications to a minimum with a simple Yes/No (actually I say alright ,OK , gotcha or something like that) or call out contacts and focus on the game.
Some players tend to chatter on and on about various things (some game related , some not) making it more of a social event except I don't know them so can't really join in.
And what's your idea of a "fun game"?
Is it howling with laughter , joking around with other players and finally ending the round with a belly ache from laughing so hard...
or..
the squad pulled together , followed orders and completed the objectives.
Your opinions?

I'm usually playing with people I can call 'friends' by now because I've spent so much time with'em, so we talk about god and the world when there is no actual combat going on...

Only have off-topic chatter, when nowhere near the enemy or respawning. If we are bored (defending VCP on Basrah for example) then someone usually asks someone about r/l or makes a joke.
I know, I had an engy in the squad, who layed down AT mines and the tard blue ones drove over every single one of them and we had a guy pulling off sarcastic jokes about it

Its great to have a squad of ppl who talk and joke around alot.
Lol "Folow me in this building so we can play doctor and nursey!"
When healing eachother: "You have wonderful eyes!"
"If you can revive me now im gonna mastrubate!"
All quotes are from Sadist_Cain

I prefer both. Nothing like a squad that can work together, and then make a witty comment after a disaster. Instead of festering with burning rage, you get a good laugh and get on with things.
And as the lads may tell you, I might be a tad on the chatty side ...

I use the radio as much as needed, but not more than that. Sometimes I have to talk a lot as SL, in certain circumstances, but generally you don't need to. I can't stand it when someone clutters up the radio with useless chatter. Sure, maybe where they are standing there is nothing going on, but other guys need to hear what is happening around them.
The WORST is commanders who talk to much. I had one last night who wouldn't shut up! And to make matters worse his mic was really loud. He kept using V chat to talk to 1 specific person, like he would say "Yo yo yo yo , there's a guy up on the right of the tower!" WTF. I'm not even anywhere near the tower, I don't need to hear that. I kept muting him but the mute kept going off and I'd have to mute him again.
When you are commander you need to use V chat even more sparingly (a lot more really) than a SL uses B chat. And if you must talk a lot to a specific SL, then go into the commander window, click on that squad and use B.

well the game is all about having fun isn't it? So general chatter & jokes etc is something I like. Though atm 95% of the time I play it's with my 'friends' in TS. That's the only way I can be sure to have some decent teamwork going on. So naturally there is a lot of talking going on when people know each other, but I think it can (and SHOULD!) happen in voip squads too.
Of course when a lot of action is going on there really isn't time to talk about this and that but there usually is quite a lot of time when you are moving to a new location or defending an objective.

Ok how is it 3 but still if you bring any of them up i will yell at you. iam not great on a fourms and that stuff but ingame iam 1 of the best mostly with a full squad. But So everyone knows if you dont have a mic your not going to get in alot of Teamwork based squads.
Teek:look at this page for my leadership skillz. nvm you cant see them till December 9th!

It can be fun or it can be a real pain in the ***.. when squad members are chatting away. Just depends on whether i like them or not.

Yes it depends. Sometimes it is really annoying, when 10 PPL are in the same TS-channel chattering like a bunch of chickens, and 5 other guys are talking over VOIP and the battle is heating up. But I have to admit, that I am talking a lot of BS sometimes while playing. But it just depends which whom you are playing, but I like it, if someone is telling funny things.

See ya most SL's just lead but if you have a squad of friends you can make fireteams. It helps alot in atacking and ddefending of flags and helps as British on Basrah so you cna hit caches or even cross a road.
Here is my FireTeams on Al Basrah During the BETA with Eddiereyes(FireTeam 2 Leasder), MSheffield, pvt. p3te, Stal, Smith, and LtSoucy as SL(Fireteam 1 leader)

Not sure how you work that out.... we are a diverse community.. you can't be expected to enjoy everyones banter. Some people are funny some are not so.

You can mute commanders?

^ Tab -> Manage -> Check CO mic. Very useful at times
'Shift gets you killed', i use my ears alot listening for footsteps.
I love the talkative squads, but hate the unconvenient chatter when i'm going for a kill. But asking for temporary radiosilence is enough at most times.
