Nope, not old news - it came out today (or yesterday, I forget which).

Some slight inaccuracies in there (Trenches? ey?!?!) but not a bad little piece of publicity :)

There’s a new version coming out just before Christmas, too, so you can escape the family by submerging yourself in the trenches.
Eh? Have I been living under a rock as an R-CON/MOD? Something before .7? Or was that talking about .6 mistakenly? Have I been living under a rock!?

yea, the article is written well, but contains far to many predictions presented as fact in addition to other inacuracys.

A couple factual errors, but that's to be expected when any small project like this gets publicity. Let's not be fan-boys about it ;) . Overall a great piece of publicity. Thanks Rico and Gaz for hooking this up.

First: cocaine is a stimulant and has no sedative effects. If you're gunna talk drugs talk, at least name the right ones. Any of the benzodiazapines would have been a good choice, along with some of the antihistamines. The opiates too are pretty sedating, and alcohol is the most commonly used of all. :p

Second: Drugs talk is bad!

So hush with that, foo'!

Edit:
Also, a lot of antipsychotics (such as haloperidol, clozapine, chlorpromazine) are sedating, which is why they were called the Major Tranquilizers for many years until they realised that in the public mindset, tranqs were something you shot into lions with a dart gun, and not sick people.

Edit2:
Whisky does this to moderators, guys... it makes them cranky and pedantic and weird, and the effects can only be counteracted with pizza. Mmmm, pizza.

I wouldn't call benzos "a good choice" though. They're among the few drugs who's withdrawal effects can kill (along with alcohol ;) ). But yes, a quick xanax would be the common drug to give to somebody with MJP's apparent condition. If I were a doctor however, I'd prescribe much more interesting remedies. Nothing like an ayahuasca journey to figure out why you're all hyper... haha. Just kidding.

I meant "good choice" in the sense that if he wanted to name a sedating drug, any of the benzos would do :p

And yes I'm well aware of the effects (side and otherwise) of all the drugs I listed there - they're something I come across every day in my clinical practice, and I fully intend on completing a non-medical prescriber's course as soon as I can persuade the local NHS to fund my place back at uni in order to be able to appropriately prescribe the lot of them :p
