Stationary H-AT should be useable by everyone!

Hello guys!
I've played a round of PR and noticed something should be changed. Our squad moved to an enemy flag where we had to dig in. I heard an APC incoming so I went to that stationary H-AT standing around there but I couldn't use it!!! I mean... why can't you use those? Finally you are able to use enemy mounted MGs but why not enemy stationary H-ATs? They aren't vehicles or something, they should be useable for everyone!
Is it possible to change that so each faction can use it?
(Stationary H-AT:

)
Post your opinion!
Cheers

I think that it's not a bike. You should have proper training before you could use it, soldiers are trained to use only their own equipment (that doesn't apply to various special forces).
...but I may be wrong

Well arguably, since each force can use it's opposition's HAT, it may not be so far off that they can use the stationary TOWs.

Anyone here who has actually used these things and could explain how complicated they are. "Point in the general direction of the enemy and pull the trigger" "or push 7 buttons in the right order, then pray it doesn't fire out the back side"?

I think that the opposing forces shouldn't be able to use their enemies more technical weapons. Anyone can pick up a rifle, figure out the fire selector, and blast away. Most soldiers can't pick up a chinese rocket launcher and intuitively understand how to use it.
While I realize that there is no good way to keep people from using opposing H-AT kits, I don't think you should be able to use enemy AT positions.

The problem with allowing people to use enemy tows, is that a lot of the time tows are used for main base defense. So, imagine having enemies infiltrate your main base and start using your tows to blow up all your stuff (like the Al Kufrah US main). You might say that is realistic, but it's also realistic that enemies would not be so easily able to get into your main base in real life, because you would have soldiers stationed there. And because PR is only 64 players, you can't really waste a squad on defending the main all map long (plus that would be boring).
So I think it's fine how it is now.

Well... that's true. But I think each faction should know how to use such technical weapon systems, even from the enemy. That's not a big deal to know how.
And for the main baseraping problem (not only a solution for camping with stationary weapons but generally)... you could set up a "death zone" for enemies at each main base/uncapable base, so they can't get there in a radius of 50-100 meters or something like that. Like it's already used in the map Al Basrah. So the problem would be solved...

except on all the maps where you can capture their mainbase?

Put a deathzone around the TOW?

Well that's not a mainbase... only uncapable start positions are main bases! Everything is realistic because the opponent team has to take that flag! So why can't they capture a stationary TOW standing around there for making the capture easier? That's not a invincible weapon. We don't have so many vehicles and you could raise the reload time / reduce the amount of avaiable ammo to make it fairer
Put a deathzone around the TOW?
No! Just let it be usable by everyone! Would be realistic and handy. Deathzones should be set up at uncapable bases only so they can't rape that base (uncapable bases are mainbases which should be free of enemy because they can't capture it!).
Engineer wrote:As we speak about TOW's here...
Remove map placed TOW's, and make them all to be a commander asset like the AA artillery. Still keeping them team-locked.
Great idea!

But they should leave the stationary ones.. making mainbases look much cooler

Generally suggestion:

Add more sandbags and fortified positions to the new maps at key locations like important flags or something! Look at the map called Kyiuang... (can't remember the name xD) those are really cool defensives! MG emplacements on top of roofs holy ****.. isn't that awesome?? More love for details! It makes the map much more realistic and everything looks like a real combat zone. Not like a world suddenly surprised of attacking enemies ..hehe

i wouldnt have a clue on how to operate a chinese missle launcher.
when we went to Bovington we got to look at a LAW, one of us managed to pick it up and stick it on his shoulder upside down and the wrong way round.

Well.. even dumbasses, that can't remember their own training with heavy weapons in their military schooling, are present in this world
Okay! Maybe not all soldiers know how to deal with such arms but PR players do!!!!1

I don't think there has been a clear reason stated, other than that it would be fun, for players to be able to use enemy stationary H-ATs. Is there one hiding somewhere behind this thread?

too many times my death couldve been prevented if i could just use that bloody TOW. i think it should be made useable by enemies simply due to the fact that a soldier that has been trained to use a TOW should have enough knowledge to improvise with an AGM similar to a US soldier using an AK

I don't think its a priorety to use enemy assets IRL. Anywhy not a good idea to secure an enemy flag if you ain't got any H-AT kit in your squad. So you should rather think what to bring instead of what you find.
