The Battle for Qinling is a British vs PLA maps with lots of hilly frosty terrain that will feature mainly Combined Arms combat from jets to infantry all needing to work together to be able to archive victory on this map!

Briefing:
With constant skirmishing across the Chinese front lines, British forces decide to strike a deadly blow into the Qinling mountain region. Both sides have established air bases in the foothills of the mountains, and are preparing to launch a large scale combined arms offensive through this once tranquil region.

A Small USMC mechanized unit has been attached along side the British Forces as part of a joint coalition operation. The area has a large coal deposit, crucial to the Chinese war effort in this region. The stakes are high in this large scale operation, and neither side can afford to lose.

Why is the NW part of the map empty? CPs look stacked for a 4x4 map.

What is this black crater, some kinds of coal mine ?

And what's with the horizontal line with no/less trees by the middle ?

This map look really cool, can't wait to play it, but it's a shame that the rapid effect is so out of the way :(
Edit: Oh, just noticed the road going along it ! :D

Yes, seems like a fair question. Especially when such a nice static (the water movement) is off the (seemingly) linear CP design/placement -which makes the effort irrelevant. OTher than that, the technical detail in this map is fabulous and very artistic! Well done Rhino.

Now you see, I made a bunch of flag setup concepts in the begging of the development stage of the maps and stood back and looked at this one after I did it and did you know what I saw? BF1942 Gazala. http://intel.planetbattlefield.gamespy. ... la_map.png

Thou still some bits are pretty diffrent, like the lake bang in the middle of the 2 flags not making a strait passage and stuff is off, I think this will work.

What it will do is concentrate the ground forces on the map into this area, which also allow lots and lots of room for flanking, choppers and jets.

I think you will come to like the flag layout more than you will for something like kashan ;)

1, spot on, the black crater is a open pit coal mine :)

2. that is in fact a clearing of trees where some big *** power cables run right down the map, looks odd via the minimap but looks gd ingame ;)

and ye, the river rapids will still have quite abit of combat around it, one of the main routs from the brit air base go along it ;)

think the flag layout is perfect...doesnt need any more flags...remember the travel distances folks...id rather fight than travel all the time this way we can hopefully have very focused battles over each flag or group of flags...

+ each flag is around 1km or more apart so we are talking a huge area even so for infantry.

This is going to be one Epic map.

Question. There will be planes, but what about choppers? 32 and 64 like Kashan?

combined arms so you will have both jets and choppers, aswell as tanks, infantry etc.

tbh we dont have quite the players numbers I would like but still think that we can pull of a good combined arms map with 32 players a side.

By the time you walk from that rally to the flag, 0.8 will have been released.
