The Army's new UH-72A Lakota will primarily be used by the National Guard to perform homeland security missions.
on that same wiki page

The UH-145, and the UH-72A are the same thing. One is the civilian name the other UH-72A the military name. It's like the UN-1N Huey = military name, Bell 212 = civilian name. I've heard there has been some issues with the helicopter the main one is poor power in extreme temperatures i.e most of the places it's likely to see action. And excessive cabin heat. The cabin heat is so bad it's going to be the first US combat heli to get an AC. (more weight)

The Lakota isn't really replacing anything except the aged UH-1Hs that are still in NG and Army Reserve service. It is going to be used for operations within the continental United States in order to free up the Blackhawks for deployed forces overseas. So, no, it will not be in PR.

In-Game or I.R.L. ? lol... cause I.R.L. i dont think Chinese will event reach American continent, and if they do, they will have to deal whit U.S.Force/National Guard/Insurgency,Canadian Force/Insurgency,United Kingdom Army...France and Germany will surely enter the arena... China cannot face all that military power alone... its impossible, and if they lunch nuclear missile... U.S.A will lunch it too... (Chinese is 3 time more populated than USA... how many casulties do you think there will be ? Many Millions...)

So i think it would be unrealistic to seen In-Game Chinese Army invading United States.

you know he means Ingame ...
BTW, it's the same case for any countries : the only way to win a war is to have lots of good allies, tho BF2 bg is only for the thrill of having random wars around the world

We picked a European helicopter!? Is this still the bush administration I know? What happened to haliburton, Lockheed, and Boeing? What is the world coming to when our administration is too lazy to block evil contracts with foreigners?

But in all seriousness, the eurocopter looks pretty sexy. I'm sad to hear its gots issues, but don't they all.

Eurocopter and Sikorsky are partner... this is why EC got the contracts

Welcome to the global economy and competitive contracts. The helicopter that will be the newest in HMX-1, the Marines' presidential transport helicopter squadron, is the VH-71. The rest of the world knows it as the Merlin. If I remember correctly, it's the first non-Sikorsky helicopter to get the job.

Also, Eurocopter has close to 50% market share worldwide, so they must be doing something right.

Any particular reason they are replacing the VH-60?

I think it'll be the older VH-3s, at first. Not sure about the reasons other than the VIPs wanting more leg room.

The Kiowa is not a utility helicopter and that is what the Army/NG needs. Kiowa doesnt have an acceptable payload or has room for design change so the Eurocopter is the logical choice between the two.

I am actually glad to see a foreign competitor get some traction in the US military market, I was just being sarcastic about the fact that US military contracts are without a doubt some of the least competitive. It's nice to see our government do something right (or righter).

On wikipedia it says the manufacturer is Eurocopter - North America...

Now I don't know anything about this but I'm pretty sure something called EUROcopter would not be base in the US...

Anyway I thought these UH-1Ys were the standard.
