I don't know what the standard rifleman equipment is, but I know for sure they don't use their knife to go and stabbing the enemy. So is there any other equipment to replace the knife with for regular rifleman?

May I ask how you would know that for sure? If nothing else is left, or the sound of a weapon would give away your position, why on earth would a solider not stab an enemy??

I still would love to see the
bayonets! Mentioned before, but the discussion froze and it has been forgotten. So: IS THERE A CHANCE WE GET BAYONETS anytime soon? (Sorry for the caps.

I tried to buy a good combat knife for my Bro to take to Iraq concealed. He was in a small Hearts and Minds unit going into the villages and separating the Baath party officials and creating new mini governments with trustableelders. I tried to give him the knife to wear concealed under his armour in case the talks went awry, but he explained Brit army policy.
If you aren't issued it, you aren't allowed to carry it. They don't want the civilians scared crapless when you turn up looking like some scary quasi rambo.

IIRC they can't be coded to be fitted and have the rifle fire at the same time, so would effectively have another weapon which is a spear, rather than a rifle

. Certainly the case in FH2.

Just use the hands or the gun stock, would be more realistic agains civs but wouldnt kill soliders so easy.
But a new animation to code and so we probably wont see something like that soon.

Agreed, how unrealistic would it be to have soldiers actually use bayonets!

Since soldiers in real-life are issued knifes (as far as I have heard from people currently serving, it's a pretty standard item to get) and bajonets to boot, there's no real point in asking for them to be removed.
Locking due to the suggestion not adding anything to the game at all, and being unrealistic as well.
