Gas Launcher/M203?

One quick question,is the tear gas launcher from BF2:SF an M203?
I'm pretty sure you can load tear gas and etc. grenades into an M203 correct me if i'm wrong...But what ever happened to those fun little tear gas launchers in BF2:SF?I thought those were the coolest! But I'd like to see them in use in PR.We all know that conventional armies wouldn't probably be using tear gas in eachother, but conventional militaries against,insurgents/rebels!That's different!
I think that it would be nice for mainly urban Insurgency maps to have the M203 launcher with tear gas. They use these in urban environments today.Mainly in riots though, these would still be effective.Say there's a room full of Ins. or a field or street. You could pop a tear gas grenade over, and rush in with your gas mask on!

Most of the videos I've seen the troops aren't even wearing their masks. I don't think that most infantryman posess tear gas grenades, or are effectively trained in their use. CS rounds are less than lethal, and when you see someone with a gun you want them dead. Hard to kill someone with a gas grenade, unless you hit them in the face.
If you want to kill a room full of ins, use a real nade. If there are civies, find your SL and get him to toss a flash.
I don't mean to be a hater, but I don't think that CS gas is realistically employed very often.

could be used for indirect fire, you know since bullets can't really go around corners, or if the civilians make a return, gas would come in handy disrupting their visibility.
also, gas masks are badass.

I don't need a lower rank telling me PR is based on realism...I've been playing PR since it's beginning.

Wow aren't you special

.
On the topic at hand, I don't really think it is needed. As for controlling crowds, flashbangs are good enough

Agreed. CS would be badass, but so would a ton of other stuff (C130 Gunships, M82's as a sidearm for everyone, etc.) But it just isn't something that you will see on the frontlines.

We don't issue automatic 1337 snipers to everyone? We should probably start that, I imagine things would go much better then.
You could always mini-mod your ideas scar, and see who will download them.

No need to be rude.
Your "rank" is simply based on how many posts you've made on the forums, nothing else. It does NOT mean you automatically know everything about the game, it does NOT give you permission to act like a jackass and it does NOT denote seniority over other forum members.
Can that attitude, please
Oh, and follow that advice because I'm a second lieutenant and you're only a sergeant...

STFU. I'm a Lieutenant Colonel!
I do agree with the others on the CS gas issue. It's not really needed, or very realistic. If we were to disperse large crowds rioting, then yes. But normally we just sort those civvies that don't cooperate out with .50s.
And good luck on the mod!

not that ive been to iraq or anything like that, but wouldnt tear gas be an ideal way of dispersing angry civ's?
non leathal, and obviously effective... Not sure if current US/UK forces employ them at all, but sounds like a good idea to me, especially if im having rocks thrown at my head and you cant shoot back.
Exactly how much work would this take to add to a future release? (DEV's?) Just out of curiosity...

We need a field marshals opinion on this or commander of her majestys forces, HRH the Queen herself.
If someone could see to that meanwhile I think its a good idea and civilians should get 'smoke' to throw that resembles a burning sooty tyre to throw in the middle of a road, maybe near a mine prehaps

For real a gas launacher would be cool for maps like assault on Messita when the british people try to cpature the tower they mostly have to clean the tower themself first... So it would improve the gameplay to have it on this map. why? British guys can shoot it inside the tower and a second squad will rush in. It should be something like gas makes your screen for 15 seconds like the one you have when you are bleeding.
