And I dont think its a sponhser. And does it affect gameplay? if not its wont change too fast.

You can take it off by putting hud transparency to 100%.

Thats a point from what I've seen from 0.7 the "no minimap" still appears to be there and I'm not sure but I think friendlies are visible too :S
Course we can set the HUD transparency to max but that has a lot of unwanted effects.
Was really hoping we wouldnt have to see any of that rubbish in the corner unless we got into a vehicle

vehicle = minimap
no vehicle = no minimap
in future, maybe we look to customize the look of the minimap some more to make it look like a built in system inside the vehicles, or maybe one you guys can do it !
