Commander asset: mortar postion

I thought about making commander ability to build a mortar nest (like a kind of firebase but with a mortar). It could be quite sympathic to have this kind of artillery in project reality, of course without a view of the target but maybe with a communication system with a sniper or squad leader giving the target and correcting the shot position by radio.
Mortar with a limited number of rounds and range. an icon indicating a target could appear and the mortar man calculate the good coordinate with a map.
Sry if it has already been suggested.

I believe mortars are already planned, just not implemented yet.
Wait for .8 for them I'm assuming.

There were mortars in the first 0.6 open beta release, but they were bugged, so they have been taken out again.

IIRC , they only were models without skin and no code at all, just white tubes

Ah, i remember mortars in bf1942's DC mod, lol, they ran out of ammo pretty fast, and, dont you guys think mortars will be spammed into the VCP on basrah.. unless you give them limited ammo and very small range that is

No, bases in Iraq and Afghanistan come under Mortar and Rocket attack occasionally. You have to go find the mortar.
