good to see the laupa on the UK team, nice weapon, however, i wouldn't mind seeing some more british sniper rifles, i know there is the M95, which actually looks more like an M107, but how about the introduction of the AW, or even the AS.50, both great sniper rifles, and quite surpising bearing in mind the AS 50 is used by Navy SEALs and SOCOM as well as UKSF

and whats the possibility of a british skinned minimi instead of the SAW??

More sniper rifles that offer less mobility would only serve to further reduce the capabilities and usefulness of the sniper class.

I do think there is a high chance of getting a minimi skin though. That would be quite sweet. Barring new weapons, I think that it is probably quite high on the list.

What is the difference between the M249 and the Minimi? AFAIK its small aesthetic changes. Time is better used elsewhere. As for .50 Cal Snipers, they're being removed in .7

Well the version of the minimi in widest use with the British Army, Royal Marines and RAF regiment, the Para (under the designation L110A1) has a shorter barrel and folding stock (though the Mk.1 style minimi is also L-classified as the L108A1, though it is not in as wide use).

i know its only small aesthetics, but they can make all the difference, especially if it had the SUSAT mounted on top, then it would be a great add.

Susats were getting ditched quite a lot in-theatre on our LMGs as it took too long to get in a good firing postion. Plus you then also have un-balancing issues.

Personally i would prefer to see the GPMG as an infantry weapon instead of the SAW, i'm sure the GPMG is in more widespread use than the Minimi?

Last thing we need is more sniper especially .50 ones because they are unrealistic as it is. The M82 and M95 are deployed as specialty weapons in real warfare. They're not going to be carried by snipers in a battlezone, they are expensive to shoot, very heavy, and are just overkill generally. A M40 or R700P is what would be carried because of the lighter weight and they are much more stable.

Not quite... this is the standard orbat we used for a section, i worked with the Marines at the start of my tour for a couple of weeks and they also had the same. The GPMG and LMGs took priority so when one of them was hit or went on r&r a rifleman stepped up. This shows 6 men, when the platoons cut down to having 2 sections in a platoon the sections would have 8 men. Just add a rifleman to each fireteam.

Section Commander - SA80
LSW Gunner
Rifleman W/ UGL

Delta F/T
Section 2 i/c - SA80 W/UGL
LMG unner
GPMG Gunner

Well on the guide it does state that the minimi will be made in a future release and the m249 is just a placeholder so we will get it.. hopefully.

i dont think you can just skin a m249 to make it look like a minimi, because theyre are the aforementioned physical differences, so it would take a new model i believe, right?

Am I dreaming things, or on some maps does the British have it's own black/green style Support class machine gun, and on others have the US M249 SAW?

Or am I just imagining things, and ALWAYS have the M249?
