One thing that I'm concerned about is the performance changes that is going to come with this new patch and also, everyone knows that PR's performance is different that vanilla BF2. Since I bet alot of new people are going to get into PR for 0.7, they'll want to get good framerates + eye candy, and instead of just trying out settings and then going into the game to see if it runs smoothly.

what id like is maybe a dev could make a demo file of some game play including intense firefights and we could make some benchmark program

somthing like that ^^ except with PR.

if they do it they just waste time... The time they create something like that could be spend to add more real features to PR... Just useless

PR v0.7 is generally more optimised than v0.6.

Grass and trees are the main offenders and a percentage has been removed from problem maps to optimise better. Also some sounds were tweaked from .ogg to .wav to create more optimisation.

Generally things will be a bit easier, but always remember, vBF2 was so simple in its maps that it provided a larger retail sales pattern. At the time peoples pc's were generally not ready for what PR is now. Think about Crysis, ETQW, COD4 and other modern games, PR still competes (playability) and if vBF2 came out now, it might not sell as a new retail product against those.

^ agree besides there is no much off a change only vista users get some problems with big maps and map loading after 1 round

If peeps want to try it out, they come try it out. This seems like it would add more time and keep people focused on how well their system is running PR as opposed to the teamwork that is the focus of the mod.

This is coming from a guy running everything on low except for view distance, so I admit it's a bit biased.

i know devs should be working on everything else, but making a battlerecorder demo shouldnt take that much time and its all you need. id eeven do it myself, but idk how (i mite learn some day) and i dont have 0.7
