Medic suggestions.

I think you should completely REMOVE the whole reviving thing. I mean is it really realistic for one shock from the defribs reviving a person torn up by a 50 cal???its really stupid.

In addition, REMOVE field dressings from ALL classes except medics so medics would be ESSENTIAL in a team. This will make medics more useful and remove the cartoony element that is reviving.

the state where you can be revived (somewhat) realistically portrays someone on the edge of death being seriously wounded, i think it should remain because otherwise the game will become harder for the medics. Have you been a militia medic? you barely get to heal anyone...

Medics have to "represent" a lot of things that happen in real life. Though this is a game aiming towards reality, we have to bend the ACTUALITY of things.

For example, a real Heavy-AT can pretty much take down a M1 Abram in one shot. But we cant have that ingame cause then H-AT would be extremely over powered.

Battles dont last an hour or two, they might last for days. Big things like these need to bent to actualy have a video game going on.

We as humans do not have numbers to represent our life. If we are shot and a bullet penetrates our skin, a simple bandage over the wound is not going to make you feel better. I like to think medic's are eraseing what happened to the soldier he is healing. Say a medic is healing a soldier because the soldier is seriously injured, i pretend the soldier was never shot or something like that. But if the soldier was slighy injured a medic is doing what he does in real life.

Game play BASED on reality. Not game play IS reality.

But dont you think the idea of shock paddles is silly? How about instead the Medics have a weapon called "Treat Injury" or "Help Up" or simply "Treat" and all it shows is the medics hands grabbing and treating and it would have the same effect as the defrbs but be more believable and less arcade. Do you understand what i mean maybe i worded that stupidly?

I don't see why you would go through all that trouble to model someone patching someone up. It could get graphic (for our younger players), and isn't that what the defibs represent anyway. I just don't see that because it looks silly (not that it does), that that necessitates a major change in game play.

No. For so many diffrent reasons.

There's already enough people walking around, begging people for bandages. If i get isolated and then shot in the foot, I don't want to be walking all the way to the nearest Medic going "Ahhh!" every 5 seconds as I slowly die (from being shot in the foot). It's even worse when your an Insurgant and you fall of a 10 foot wall. If anything, I think people should be given 1 more bandage each and have then take a tad bit longer to work so they couldn't be used in the middle of a firefight.

I agree.
Now go and do the animations and other work required and then give it to the devs and they will probably include it in one of the releases if it's good enough.

Seriously, it's a lot of work for something that doesn't affect gameplay in any way. It's basically just replacing the shock paddles with something else. Yes it would look more realistic, no it's not worth the time.

Didnt they want to replace the defi with something else anyway?

However, the reviving is good for the gameplay.

And one field dressing per soldier is perfect. More and noone will ever need a medic, less and everyone would run after any medic in sight. One is good.

also if there weren't any field dressings than you would bleed to death from a 7mm round but not a 5mm round

The medic class is already extremely handicapped. Even if you're working with a squad, in order to save someone you first have to cap the guy who killed the man down, then zap the guy, move somewhere safe and spend a good deal of time healing him. Its a pain, and in pub play it rarely happens. Removing the defibrillator would destroy the med class entirely.

As far as the idea for a "treat wounded" weapon, just pretend if it makes you feel better. It's like stabbing the insurgents. There are much more important things then exactly what some action's animation is. As long as it is implemented correctly its better for the few animators on the DEV team to work on really important things, especially since there are few of them.

Treat it this way, conventional armies have body armour, that is why they can survive after being shot. Insurgents have no body armour and that is why they are instantly killed.

The game is called REALITY MOD all classes in real life have field dressings. while were on the subject of unrealistic suggestions Why not add a super mega laser cannon of death to the f-16 it would make it essential for teamplay. It has to vaporize tanks.

just give the medic an adrenalin injection instead of the shock paddels as they did in EOD, it does not change the gameplay, but is more realistic

Pretty much my most hated idea ever, medics have it hard enough as it is.

I personally like the fact that im shocking someone back to life, usually, i shock em in the balls for no reason, it doesn't do anything, but its funny. I also think that removing the feild dressings is a retarded idea. I hate not having enough and bleeding out after making a ten-foot drop off a wall. and also, i think if someone sustained enough "damage" they would go straight to being dead. i think that already is how it works. so, if you get torn up by 50 cal, your already halfway to purgatory my friend.

To the field dressings for only medics idea: NOOOOOoooo...
why? - its realistic, basic 1st aid training tells aiders to use the causualty's dressing from his kit. Also, buys a hard pressed medic time to treat criticals in the game.

With this engine, we are seeing the best of what we will get for medics. But I would agree with maxfragg, defibs could be replaced with adrenaline/morphine like in EoD. But since it wouldn't impact gameplay...

Medics all the way!

I seem to remember reading that the shock paddles were used as a representation of dragging a fallen comrade to cover to treat wounds because coding the dragging animations was out of the question. As such they work pretty well and it's only skilled medics in a well organised squad that can get the best out of them.
