ClayGast ($parTacu$) Kit Idea

Make everyone spawn with no weapon at all, and maybe a knife and a pistol- at every single spawn point make a weapons rack in which you can pick up any type of kit (which would be limited in #)- this would help limit snipers and stuff to those who could get the kit, and not just everyone.

its an interesting idea, but what about situations where you arent spawning at a military base? i.e. active battle maps

Well, as long as their is a cap point, then it wouldn't be unrealistic to put a few weapons there- like 4 or 5. Some people would be without one, but whatever.

i disagree with this suggestion, it takes away the whole battlefield concept right their

So tell me, what do you believe is the Battlefield concept? And also, this mod is meant to be realistic. *looks at huge letters on top of page* And I think this IS realistic.

Great idea, I vote yes.

good sugestion but it would it would have one big negatif thing : Basecamping. If an enemy is in the base he will be able to kill everyone because the others dont have any weapons.

Big NONO.
Some reasons why this should not be implemented, in no particular order;

You would have to pick your loadout every single map.... If not every single time you spawn which is worse!

Booooorrrrriiinnng :D

It would be unrealistic as every soldier in the field has allready been issued his kit before he left home. So why be forced to scurry around the base to pick what you've allready been issued? If you want something else THEN you can scurry around the base after you spawn anyway to exchange whatever items you want.

It would be too much like Tactical Ops and Counter Strike where you have to "buy" your weapons every goddamned round it's so annoying I want to strangle the developers of those mods.... GRRRR

Basecamping might become an olympic event...

hmm, blake, you dont seem to be familiar to the battlefield kit system....

in BF1942, and BF:V there are 6 set kits that you can pick up, you cant customise them at all and once your ammo runs out you have to go and get a new kit.... its quite different to CS or UT

I wasn't clear enough obviously. :) (and mixing 2 or more games into the post didn't help to clear it up :P ) I admit that the scurrying around after spawn to exchange items in your loadout part, was wrong. My head was on full auto at the time... sorry :P
What I meant was that claygasts idea about spawning with nothing but a knife and a pistol is not, in my opinion, realistic because in the real world troops have allready been issued their weapons which is "simulated" ingame by the 6 predefined kits you can choose from just before you spawn in the map.

thats true, soldiers are trained for specific roles and the such, it would be strange for a soldier to be able to choose what he is :P

I think we should stick with pre-made kits, that is, unless BF2 allows kit customization.

Maybe though, we could have limits number of kits(hopefully a server option) for certain maps.

Ok i got this information of an old source so it might be false.

You got like battlefield premade kits ( 7 instead of 6), but the kits are customisable is the main menu of bf2 (not while playing a game). Also that the weapon stats increase while playing with a weapon, example, if you use often the stinger, in the end you will be able to shoot more presicly.

I thought that would be the case.

This is why the sas mod has many new weapons. MMmh only that i dont understand why they make weapons that are already included in BF2

If I were to guess I'd say maybe because they're going to animate the weapons? Showing real reloading sequences and moving belts to beltfed weapons and so on.....
That's just a wild and harebrained guess though...

I talkied to their co-leader, they want to make a total conversion of the game, so they want to use their own made weapons.

This is the kind of stuff the worries me. Now the game reference I'm going to use is lame, I realize, but bear with me. I have a friends who only plays consloe games (in love with the tiger woods series golf games). I go over there to play and he's logged in 1.5 million hours, been to the pro shop 150 times and bought all of the good gear, and has had his skills "honed" due to using certain things all the time. I can't compete with him. Not because he's a better player than I am, just because he's spent time getting more accuracy points by playing at the driving range of the game for three straight nights.

I dont want this to happen with BF2 (or this mod for that matter). I would like everyone on an even plane. The game shouldn't make player B more accurate just because player B shoots the stinger 450 more times than player A. He will be more accurate on his own because he's used the thing so much more. Let the accuracy and skills be decided by the players, not some stupid formula in coding of the game.

I second that, Hoss. Totally and absolutely. :D
Make the weapons as hard or as easy to use as they are in real life. There is no need to award a player with accuracy points because he fires a certain weapon more than another player. Like Hoss said, the player will become proficient enough without the added accuracy.

I am not sure about that upgrade system. It are rumours.

But i am sure about another fonction the "buy mode":

You can buy better equipement to be stronger , or other accesoires like a mp3 player .

Meh, "the buy mode"

Thats the 1st thing Io've heard about bf2 that I was pissed about. lol
