Maps: Fools Road Suggestion / Feedback thread

Might be good to have a general thread for map rather than core-specific feedback and suggestions.

Kudos, praise, suggestions and bugs spotted if anyone finds one will i'm sure be appreciated.

My favourite map personally in the game at present, so i thought i would start it off.

I love the varied types of objective to assault and defend which gives each one a unique challenge, each one has a different atmosphere which when coupled with the open areas with the road network makes the whole map a challenge.

My suggestion:-

We need a nice Milita Attack Copter at the Helicopter Base, and if the Brits hold the point for long enough it becomes one of those awesome Harriers for the brit side.

Nicely Assymetric, also creating the possibility that the air asset on both side might have to sneak off and get repaired by engineers in the field, if it's operating base/FOB for Brit gets overrun. In some circumstances an intelligent team might go and hide the asset in a clearing, with attendant engineers. Interestingly if they hide it long enough you might end up with one in combat with the other... Classic stuff.

Personally i would like for "Engineer Repair Trucks" to be equipped with the ability to reload all airborne assets in the field, creating a great behind the lines almost cold war distributed airforce feel to the maps.

Isen't the map a bit to small for a plane? But I would love it if the Milita got a Hind after capturing helicopter base (and holding it for like 20min)

Yeah, I think an aircraft would be good on that map. How about even just an LB with miniguns/normal for the brits and whatever the counter is for the militia? Spawns after a little while having the flag capped. Will help for transport. I can“t see a chopper like that being overpowered in any way. With the amount of trees, vehicles and stuff, it would be easy to take down. Depends on the pilot.

I think a helicopter would be a pretty sweet addition, and definitely a good way of making it asymmetrical. I'm still getting used to the map though, don't go tossing things in yet!

why dont you add an British atack helo so the harrier wont be always turning? But I love the map only problem is the T-62 is to strong for a Warrior to take on. We need a Challenger 2 on it.

is the Hind will be putted in Fools road in the future 0.8, i will leave PR for ever! =D

No but i can ruin the map, just the T55 its a bit hard to take him down, setting a ambush whit a organized scuad, the Hind will be imposibble, only if you put the Bradley

Then the challanger would own the T62 so it would make it more unbalanced

Good idea..
I'd love to see a transport hind or the vbf2 hind used by the militia and the merlin for the brits. Compared to OGT, FR has a lot of potential landing zones cleared of trees.

Ok then how do you take a T-62 down with armored units if they get killed 1 in shot? i say put 1 C2 tank with a 30 minute respawn.

Heavy AT weaponry. Land Mines.

actually we were expressly advised by 2 british army advisors that they would not send a tank into the fools road situation due to its lack of mobility...now that was earlier in the design phase of the map.. but was a wake up call to me..

Heavy AT or enginners can easily take out the Militia tank
