A similar problem with the HK21E MG. Wikipedia as well as HKPRO says that most of them have a 3 round burst trigger group. In-game it doesn't.

I have not seen any two sources that I consider to be authoritative agree on the trigger group for the QBZ-95. Jane's Infantry Weapons doesn't specify it, which leads me to believe they don't even know for sure.

I found some pictures of the selector switch on the QBZ-95. I see two positions for it and a next to it what appears to be a button which could be either the release mechanism for the end cap on the butt of the rifle or a maybe a safety switch not unlike the Steyr AUG's push across one.

I thought there was a guy from the PRC that was on the forums, perhaps he can chime in...

Heavy Arms Z, yeah. IIRC he said it was SEF.

The fact is all the info on the Chinese internet says that it has only a single shot, and a burst mode. Not a fully automatic fire mode. The early models that were made for testing had them, but they cut it out for the same reasons the US Army did with the M16A4 models. IE it shoots too fast, and too easy to jam up mid combat. They changed it over to a single shot or burst mode weapon to also make sure their troops conserve ammo. Just like the US has done.
Why is this even up for debate? It's all over the net that this gun dose not have a fully automatic setting on the fire selector. Just fix it and the problem is solved.
As for the HK21 it dose have a burst mode, just like it did in BF2. I can't understand why the devs took it out, the SAW as well has a single shot mode that is used for long range targets when you need more shots on one spot than in one area.
The AK-47 has a single shot, burst mode, and fully automatic fire selector, as well as the PKM has a single shot mode.
I think all of these guns need to have their fire modes the way they are in real life or it's not a Realism mod. IE at one point we had Burst, and single shot as well as full automatic on AK-47s and it was a great balancer to the M16s killer long range, and it's needed even more now that the M16A4s have their ACOG addons.

Maybe it's because I can't read Chinese, but as far as I looked the Type 95 is said to have fully automatic mode. This discussion is more about the burst mode BTW.
There's also one thing that bothers me in your post (not talking about the altitude now).
Where the hell did you read that AK has a burst mode ?

Gunwing: I'm not to sure about the M249 SAW having a single shot selector. I was under the impression that very short automatic bursts were used for long ranges. Wikipedia thinks so too

. The AK-47 definitely does not come with a burst selector. Perhaps you were thinking of the AN-94 "Abakan" with it's special extra high speed 2 round burst(speaking of which, I would love to see that in the mod and I know how to get around the problem of having multiple firerates for one weapon).

Nah, [R-CON]Geze, who I believe is in charge of the project, got quite irate at someone suggesting it. I think it would only be a spec-ops weapon too. It would have to be modelled as well, or at least have a re-skinned AK-101 as a temporary placeholder.
For comparison:
AN-94
AK-101

You know, something I've noticed is that the AK-47's fire selector goes from Fully Automatic to Semi-Auto so why is the default semi? Just a thought considering it would more likely be on full because it goes Safe-Auto-Semi

to my best of knowledge the 95 fires in single or auto but seeing as the PLA's
'lack of transparency' is more closer to opaque, that info is probably a declared state secret so dont take my word.
and while we are on the matter of chinese weapons, when are we going to see the type 03?
its being made in the same quantities as the 95 as an ambedextrous alternative so lefties dont get hot shells blasting their faces when using the right hand only 95.

PeacyZ or someone on these forums actually owns a QBZ95, perhaps he could chime in and tell us?

That pretty much depends on the version.
I've read somewhere that the export (5.56 x 45 mm) version comes with semi-burst-auto selection.

He's Chinese. In fact, the QBZ's you are listening to have a recording of his in the mix

There is no reliable source on the net for this. There are two problems with this, the export version of the assault rifle is different to the version used by the PLA, and there could be a loss of information in the translation.
The G36 for example has safety, semi, and burst, when literally translated from the switch, but it is actually safety, semi and full auto. So it's possible that the Chinese used is being translated differently by different sites/people.
Kinda irrelevant though, with .7 you've got to be pretty crazy to use anything but single shot

Actually the 3RB on it kicks arse.
