Including the dutch army?

Hey Soldiers,

I keep thinking when i play PR i wish i could play as a dutch soldier, or would be cool if there were dutch voices.

So, my idea is;

Why don't we add the Royal Dutch Army to Project Reality? Offcourse its easier said than done but it can't be that much work i believe.
Most weapons are already made, and could be copied/reskinned only.
Dutch Army is in alot of maps that have been done (Fallujah, Helmand.)

I've listed up a bunch of things right over here;

Tell me what you guys think about this!

Greetings, Martijn. (11th Air Manouevre / Been to Camp Holland, Tal Kowt, Uruzgan. / Fallujah.)

At least you have a plan this time, the dutch armed forces have been suggested at least one time before in this section, and it was either turned down or dropped because of noone wanting to help and/or bad leadership/recruiting.

I personally dont think you will get a lot of back up from the community modders since most of us are occupied with other tasks at the moment.

I would (if I had the time) gladly assist you in making this addition, cause the dutch armed forces (like the canadians) are very very similar to the danish armed forces (I'm from denmark, and I've tried to sneak them in on a few maps, but so far unsuccessful).

If you can find other people to help you I might take a few projects.

I have already made pretty much all the C7 and C8 variants for personal use, but I'm afraid that they wont work since they have to be the same exact model as the C7A2 made for the Canadian forces (with solid stock of cause), the elcan is made aswell.

The glock I could do, even if its not going to be used, cause I can probably use that for one of my own projects anyway.

Oh I see. Well you sounded like someone who knew what you were talking about, and that sounds like a "leader" to me. One that will be able to take decitions about the modders own input, if its realistic or not, keep track of progress and assigning tasks to people. Not much will be done if not.

You seem like a nice guy, so what you need to do if you want to have a shot at this making it to the next level is a detailed design plan down to the equipment of every single kit and equipment (most community mods use a google spreadsheet for this), then you need some people that can do a few things to get the overall project rolling and so the DEVs can see that progress is being made instead of it just falling to the ground like 90% of the other suggestions does.

After that you have to cross your fingers that the DEVs will include your project into the game and set up a seperate sub forum so further progress can be made. If the project ever reaches this level you are pretty much home safe I should think :)

I could try to get this going by making the Glock 17 (I'll make one anyway so its no loss if its not used) but I'm pretty swaped at the moment so I wont promise any deadline :)

EDIT:

Ice killer (he is dutch too I believe) has made the Chinook and is UV mapping it (making ready for textures).
So that takes care of your vehicles, then its only skinning them.

If you get a good design plan and everything together, i would be willing to help you with reskins, and perhaps other stuff if i get round to learning how

If you want anything doing, do it yourself, so you're gonna have to be leader if you want this to take off.

But as Z-Trooper said, you seem like a good guy who could do this properly. Take a look at the other community mods to see what you need to do.

Sounds good :) I'm just fixing my home page, tomorrow I have to turn in a university project, after that I'll finish up a few models for the other mods and I'm actually out of work :D which means that I'll probably start on a Glock 17 tomorrow night.

Beginning to look like something ;) Organization always attracts mature and talented people ;)

A good idea might be to put up a table at the very top with a list of what needs to be done, and maybe putting colors on the different items so its VERY easy to see what needs to be done, and what is finished.

Just a reference could be my thread on the progress on the IDF mod:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/israel ... -f193.html

Its pretty messy, but the idea with putting it up as assignments is still pretty solid I think (for every weapon/vehicle there is a list of "model", "texture", "coding" ect... what needs to be done, and who is working on it)

Just an idea.

Or something like this:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key= ... Wsau3Cs_Ug

Again, just ideas. We dont want to waste too much time on these things if its never going anywhere, but both me and mr. Pride are kind of willing to help you out, so it might work.
The fact that you have served yourself and that the initial post was way more serious and organized than many other suggestion posts attracted my attention.

Add the Argentinian army, yeah, Brits vs Argentina, the RE capture of Falklands

Challenger 2, Harrier, Eurofighters, Tornados, Super Advanced Cruisers, Bradleys, B52 (B52??) VS Sherman, Mirage 2000C, Pucara Attack Aircraft, WW2 Battle Cruisers / Something like the Belgrano, German WW2 Halftracks, NONE IN BOMBERS.

hehe now you like my army? =D

Sorry, nope. I dont :)
I do support making armies that are currently fighting battles around the world, so realistic scenarios can be created. But I guess this is just me :)

Nope, we don't ;)
C7, C7A1, C8, C8A1, are our rifles, as for sniper rifles FN FAL with scope gets used a bit but barely, mostly Sako TRG-22, Steyr SSG, and Accuracy International rifles.
