This is an old topic...brought back...

The new look of the ACOG when scoped, from the M16 is, how should i put it...

U don't stick your eye it that thing

U should see the outer part...blurry but vissible... :-|

The ACOG Scope

2 days ago i made accidently a teamkill :-( , i pulled the trigger and at the same time one of my teammates went in the line of fire...if the look was a tittle realer( i think) i would see him in time and would wait till he passes...

Be mercyfull

They can't do magnification on just one part of the screen. They can make the ACOG float in front of your eye, but they can't make it magnify.

In otherwords, its hardcoded, can't be possible.

I know that........i request just to be able to see something on the outer part something...even if its magnified

And i wouldn't bring this post up knowing that it is isn't happycoded...

Forget the sentence 1 up, where did my grammer lead me

So instead of having a circle surrounded entirely by black, have a circle for the optic, separated from some space at the outsides for peripheral vision.

So would the image below be a good idea of what you want? With the black circle being the outside of the scope?

yep !

Like from POE...
solodude23 wrote:The outer part should not be blurred. Why? This is something your eyes automatically do depending on where your looking. When there is a scope in front of your eye you still have the ability to see clearly left and right of it. Adding blur would be unrealistic.
I think it does, since u concentrate on the optics...and i couldn't notice a lightend balcony...

Ah, I misread the suggestion, this would be nice :)

I definitely agree, some peripheral vision would be nice. It's not super necessary, and not having it means that you have to focus more on making sure you're aware of your surroundings, but I think it would be a nice touch to be added at some time.

I believe that you can't do it with magnifications greater or equal to 4x. The BF2 engine, from memory, reverts to the black background.

Uh, no that's just plain wrong.

What we could do is what you mentioned, but blur out the outer areas so as to make it difficult to see. Not sure how i'd do that though, perhaps one of the tinnitus shaders would help.

Id be very happy, so i don't shoot a teammate by mistake again...because i couldn't see the outer parts...

Thx...

the biggest problem with it is that it gives the scopes too much of an advantage in CQB. We want scopes to have a disadvantage in CQB to balance them out a little, and there is also the problem of the outside area will also be zoomed in aswell as in the inside. So the awanser is no, we are not going to change this.
