1. I have my resolution at 1680x1050 using the comand line. When i look through the Binoculars the black part doesn't extend to the edge of the screen on the right or left. So i have the cross hairs in the middle with the black surround then a vertical strip of the scenery on the far right and left of the screen.
2. On Kashan Desert, the weapon models don't look solid, the polygons seem to be floating around sort of as if the weapon is made of jelly. Only happens on this map though.

Yup, got the same deal with the binocs. Its a widescreen resolution thing, I guess it doesn't automatically extend to the corners of the screen as the regular scopes do. Don't worry about it, you get more peripheral vision.
