I was just wondering if there are any plans to get any type of artillery back it game.... Maybe player fired artillery? Im not implying that i don't like the JDAM (i love it)but artillery is a big part of combat and I was wondering if/how it would make a return.

Probably not in the near future... maybe if they can better implement it with the larger maps.

But i'm not one to comment on this :p

Well i thought it might also be good for that period of JDAM reloading. and you dont wanna use one JDAM for two tanks so for that i thought arty would be a good thing. and for Big concentrations of troops, and clearing out bases before attack the JDAM is good.

I just want to be able to say "Fire for effect". Even if it's just cheese puff arty I'm cool with it.

as long as its not uberleet h4xor arty i'd be ok with it.

like, hits somewhat near the target, damages more than kills, etc.

not like vbf2, with the rain of death ;)

if its the vanilla style arty i hope it stays gone. however if its a new arty system that would require a spotter and be realistic, then im all for it.

I would love a bf1942-esque arty system. As long as it requires teamwork (e.g. a spotter) and the arty is difficult to use. I wouldn’t want arty that any casual player could hop into and start devastating the other team with. It should be one of the most difficult weapons to use, yet one of the most effective.

Last time I heard we should be getting mortars. It's still being worked on though!

How come it was removed exactly? Could they not mod it enough for what they wanted to do with it.

mortars are a lethal combination when adjusted by squads, as iv learned in AIX mod. I would sit in the back and cause devastation with it. It would be amazing to get this in PR.

think about the insurgents being able to coordinate mortars strikes on the brits? classic insurgent style.

IMO the JDAM is weak and needs to be tweeked a bit.., big cloud of smoke ..,next to no blast radius. Ive been less than 40m away from a jdam strike and come out of it unscathed. Mortars would be a great addition.

They do in real life but couldn't hit a barn door if they were sat on the handle. They tend to roughly aim them then either set a timer or remote detonate so there's no adjustment.

I say we get a mortar class sort of like a RP, you need 3 people near you to construct a mortar and a supply box or one of those big trucks to keep you fueled.. i can see the bunker complex being mortar'd in my head and the SL screaming over voip for his squadies not to die.. ah, good old 1942 DC times :D
