I was just playing a game of EJOD on Tactical Gamer and we were discussing the G3. First of all, on EJOD it really needs to be replaced. Most of the map is close quarters, the every single time I get killed because the recoil is too extreme. Either fix the recoil on it, or replace it. Recoil: it really doesn't work like it does as it's presented ingame. The .308 has more of backwards kick, sure there's barrel rise but it's not as much as it is in-game. Instead, the recoil should be less controllable, IE it moving from side to side and up and down. Replacement: Since there is no "MEC" that I am aware of, we technically could use any gun we wanted. I would suggest using an AK74 with composite stocks (like the Grenadier kit, minus the GP-30).

PS: The AK47 recoil could use some work, it doesn't have that much recoil, and should use the same system I recommended for the G3.

Notice how it moves around from side to side, and all of the recoil isn't centered around barrel rise.

Other than that, great jobs dev, I love the mod.

I'd go with the G3 all the time. Accurate enough, kicks like a mule. Don't expose yourself at the corners. No need to make the gun more powerful, it would only result in more complains.

I'm not suggesting making it more powerful, it's alreadt powerful enough. And with the recent change of weapon accuracy, tbh it's not THAT accurate. I constantly hear people complain of accuracy. A stationary G3 at 300m should have a groupage of about 3 inches (If I'm not mistaken a meter is just a tad longer than a yard).

Get used to it. The G3 is quite accurate if you know how to use it. I have found serious issues in CQB, but that's mostly due to insane muzzle climb when unscoped, and the fact that I haven't gotten used to that climb.

I think its pretty decent. Ditto with the AK. I've been able to wipe out squads of brits at close range with the AK on fools road, and the 5.56 rifles have a definite advantage in close.

I had it tested on Zatar, close and long distance too. My greatest round in fun so far with the new version. My personal experience is that the gun works fine. Though I usually blame the software if it can't hit something other than the hardware.

i agree with give the MEC some more close combat weapons , an AK should be ok since all their vehicles use the same round as an AK .

to OP: Sure AK doesnt kick as much as it does in game but that video is a horrible example. He didnt let it rise but he must have had groupings of like 20 feet. Also, three inch groupings at 300m is amazing marksmanship speacially with the 7.62. That thing starts to float around a bit once it gets to that range not much but a tiny bit.

I had asked in .6 to see if in .7 MEC could get a "point man" class that kept the assault carbine, but got no reply on that.

Eh it aint so bad for me. If you get more then 25m between you and your enemy, The G3 will win out more often.

honestly i always thought that the MEC was a thinly veiled iran. i think they just called them MEC for political sensitivity reasons. and if im not mistaken i think the iranians use mostly G3s.

No it isn't. Given two people who are just as skilled with each other but one has the G3 and another has the M16, the M16 will win everytime.

And the "get used to it" or "deal with it" **** needs to stop. Too much of that going on in the forums and it only hurts the mod when creative ideas and solutions to problems are not addressed or talked about.

they are replacing it with the kaybar k2000 or something like that .

So do the Saudis, the Kuwaitis and Pakistanis, just to name the users in the region.

Don't use auto fire with the G3 at all, learn to handle CQC situations with single shots and you'll be killing americans and brits in no time.

I was going to say the same. Why use full auto if the recoil is so bad? You only need 1-2 shots to take someone down anyway...

That gun looks pretty nice TBH. Would be a better match than the G3. G3 would be good for "marksman", if Iran has that designation.

This is totally arbitrary. It doesn't address any possible situations, just says "M16 is greater than all". I call BS.

The G3 has been used by a great number of european countries, as well as copied internationally, and it is the basis for every roller-action weapon on the planet. To dismiss it as inferior to the M16 series out of hand is ridiculous.
