Pistol Sounds

Another thought / suggestion, I was just curious if there were any plans to change the pistol sounds on pr. I was hoping this would have been taken care of in .7 but to my surprise, every pistol has the same sound and is kind of wimpy to begin with. Any idea of when and to what extent the pistol sounds will be replaced?
Especially the .45 cal pistols those things are pretty dam loud :O
Thanks
Maverick

Uh, which .45 cal pistols?
ATM we've got the FN-Browning L9A1, Beretta M9, MR-444 Baghira and the SIG L105A1 all in 9x19mm Para, and the QSZ-92 in 5.8x21mm Chinese.
Anyway, a reworking of the sounds may well be in order, but the devs would need reliable, high quality sound recordings for that, which are often hard to come by.

There was so many things we changed in 0.7 that we just didn't even think about it.

So the answer be yes.
Just not yet. TBG since only like 4 classes get a pistol, and overall they are barely used, it just doesn't seem like a big issue.
Given that, I would still like to address this:

Because pistols are so short barreled, they're all pretty freaking loud. I've shot a beretta 92 and a variety of .22 semiautos and autos, and they all have a much more powerful report than a long weapon of equivalent caliber. Will this be represented ingame?

Oh, I thought that the British side arm was a .45 but I guess I was incorrect, thanks for correcting me. Well anyways I was just curious, and yes i understand that it may be something of great concern but good sound i think is key in a video game. I will see if mabey i could record a sound for you guys if you would like or mabey search for one. I have a lot of friends who are gun owners.
Thanks Maverick

Actually, all of them are 9mm Luger / Parabellum. The QSZ-92 was skinned for BF2 as the 9mm version, and its magazine capacity reflects this. As for which caliber the PLA actually uses, I have not seen any confirmation, but an SMG chambered for the 5.8mm Pistol cartridge has been type-classified.

Well one learns something everyday. Usually from you. Usually in a post completely contradicting what I just posted

That's not fair to either of us, I don't do that everyday, since I don't have to.
"RUMINT" seems to indicate that this is another instance in which BF2 is mistaken, as the QSZ-92-9 (sounds like a radio station) is supposedly only for PAP and export use, with the PLA using the 5.8mm version. So, we'll see about getting confirmation and fixing that in a future release.

Wow, never thought I would ever see the day that a PR member would have such terrible grammar, not to mention the lack of vocabulary

Thanks for the input.

He's not just
a PR member.
He's the only PR player that falls into a special category of creatures called 'Search campers' - (un)fortunately there's only a single specie, which is Vikingo himself. Actually it almost looked like this specie had disappeared, but here you go - some things are immortal
Anyway, the Chinese pistol is interesting - looks like an airsoft gun with such a small caliber

Does it fire the same bullet the rifle does or a shortened one? You refer to the width and not the length.
