Iv been starting local servers and practicing landing but I find you make one mistake and it a 20 minute spawn time, is it possible to turn off?.

edit gameplayobjects in what ever level you want to change it on, you can change the spawn time of any thing.

so say you wanted to make something spawn faster on gulf of oman, conquest. you would go to this file and change what you want.

eg:C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels\gulf_of_oman\server\GameModes\gpm_cq\16\gameplayobjects

I think only Rhino could use those air strips and land on them.'

it desperately need to be redone the landing strip is too small threes sand blocks every where in the worst places that should be cleared off any obstacle and tarmacked.

Rhino the entire air field is designed to purposefully kill you and destroy your planes, And any air field that is designed to do that Fails it entire pompous.

Use karkan desert airfield and the wetland air fields and a reference.

I spoke to my brother who is a pilot, and showed him the Quiling air fields.
And he said this.
His words not mine “that air field is the worst designed air field’s he has ever seen and that you would not in any way be able to land a fighter like the euro fighter there in game or in real life”.

It seems that you can land on it, but it a 1/10 chance your going to blow up, so I plead Rhino fix this map that air field’s are killing it.

lol, real constructive feedback there :p

maybe ask him what would make it more realistic?

anyways I am going to do some improvments on it, the runway is much shorter than a r/l one yes but if i make it a realistic size it would cover the entier map, and ye trees will be cut back in the next version. I would love to see what he thinks of the vbf2 air bases :p

anyways it is possible, just takes pratice.

for ways on praticing it best way to do it is to make a local server, then put in this command into the concel:

sv.startdelay 0

then when you crash, put in the command:

admin.restartmap

Practice, practice practice, that's all it takes ;) Yes its a challenge, but that's what gaming's about. Soon you'll be landing every time! :D

Oh and was there really any need to quote your brother on that one? That's 8 months work you're dismissing in an instant there. Please try to keep the critism constructive 8)

Ok Image

He said these pits whould be safer if thay where filled up with tarmack and level not a dip.

I like these buildings are good because they shield the choppers from bombs.

But I hi lighted in green the barbwire that seems to course choppers to blow up if they touch it.

But Rhino Don't get me wrong i like the map It pure i candy. Lot of flanking maneuvers.

What does your brother fly and for whom? Personally, I don't like the runway either but my way of fixing it would involve rotating the runways, which is probably a no no at this stage.

Oh, and as for the barbed wire, why is everyone complaining? If you find it so difficult to land with it, either:

1) Face the barbed wire so you'll know how far away it is

or

2) Place the front wheel(s) on the front of the helipad.

I don't like the insta-explode barbwire either. Sometimes things go wrong and having that stuff there is annoying. Its not the worst thing in the world but I've popped a chopper with in once or twice.

Is that all? So much for "most unrealistic airport ever" if there is soo few things wrong with it....

first bit ye, i could increase the width of thous bits going to the plane stand but all you have to do is center yourself with the taxiway and you will be fine, and no for a middle join onto the runway, I know its realistic but without a "air traffic controller" I made my taxiway as simple as possible so that players can easily see whats coming and what to do, putting extra bits onto the runway to suggest players should use runways as taxiways, which yes they do in r/l cos you can coridnate the planes to all go together, but ingame it would only stop players from landing / taking off.

as for the barb wire, is there any need to fly into it? I have no problems not flying into it and its pretty damn far away from the heli pad....

you might as well go on a little more then I can see if its worth the work :p
