I looked it up on search but got no results so any chance of this little beauty appearing in PR ? It will be ideal for the MEC forces or Russians if they are planned ? I had to bring it up cos I've been playing too much Call of Duty 4 Countdown map lately

with the ranges involved in PR i think that thing wouldnt look too realistic. i think thats a pretty long range SAM like it could hit a plane at 30000 feet, the smaller sams we have in the game now like the ones on the tunguska are perfect for the lower altitudes the planes fly at.

Would be cool for an objective mode.

Perhaps it could be made as a static object located somewhere around the maps.
Isn't there a variant of the SA-6 Gainful that can fire smaller missiles ?

I think the M-1 Tunguska fits both MEC and Russians but so does the ZSU-23-4 Shilka

.USI has it,woot!
That vehicle (SA-6 Gainful) also would fit them.

COD4 really needed to make some of their props interactive, instead of just looking pretty.

That thing is a beast. I don't think it would fit well in PR though.

I dont agree really but it might be alot of work.
One map could feature this weapon as a strong point of one side. The other side has massive air power (delayed spawn) but is unable to use it due to the devastating AA such as this.
The map objective would be to destroy all opfor AA in order to allow an aerial bombardment.
A ground offensive followed by the possibility of winning the game due to a massive combined force attack would make the game more then just kill and capture.
I think 7 gates is a tiny bit like this and the new counter attack mode they have, also seems similar

The only problem is it wouldn't get used, if the NATO team weren't idiots that is. All that would happen is that noone would fly until the thing had blown up, and then when it had obviously it's not gonna get used then. As nice as it would be to have it in it'd never actually be fired.

Min effective range: 3,700 m
Thats just under 4 kilometers. So you could shoot something down with one, if it were on the other side of Kashan or Quinling and didn't come much closer.
dainkennison.com :: light in the darkness..
Now that doesn't seem overly practical to me.

Speaking of COD4 Countdown do you think Project Reality can do a similar map ? If not how about including those static mobile concrete barrier thingys in some of the maps ?

Someone still has to model and skin it !

If NATO got anti-radar missiles, I'd be all for this. Otherwise, it'd just be overpowered.
