Community Service - Guide to Deviation?

Hey folks,

I'm a pretty damned good player of PR, but with the new deviation system I'm finding it quite difficult to shoot these days. I know "You have to wait a few seconds from moving to get an accurate shot", but does this apply if you go from standing to prone, does it apply for 'leading' targets, does it apply after every shot you fire?

Could the community just gimme some sound, helpful advice, that will help other folk reading this thread, on how to adapt to the new deviation? :)

Thanks!

Check out the Red-Sticky_link at the top of the 0.7 Feedback Forum within the Suggestions forum. I think it has a lot of info on things. Also check my AR deviation post. Doing a quick search will also yield some good results.

Basically if you want kill stuff, wait 1.3 without moving your mouse (Full second is longer than you think when being shot at :) )...then shoot and slowly continue to fire. Moving W,A,S,D will reset the deviation. Swinging your mouse resets the deviation and takes about .5 seconds to "calm".

THE BEST thing you can do is to start a local server and practice with it. Become the commander and grab an Officer kit (scoped weapon AND SOFLAM).

Then put an attack marker down at 100m's and shoot off a few controlled shots...waiting a second or two between each shot. Then quickly race up to 70m's out and whip out the soflam and double-zoom onto your target and see the bullet hole groupings. Bullet holes only render at 70m's or less.

Another great method is to shoot the exploding barrels..think it takes two hits. Go running/diving about and then shoot some controlled shots. You should get a feel for the guns quicky...don't forget to test the G3 as it's recoil can make it seem different but it just takes a 5-10 minutes and you'll be killing with it just as easier if not more.
