Hey there guys.
Been playing P.R for age's love teh maps.
Well with the new patch its a tad harder to keep tanks on the field.
Were getting allot a nubs leaving tanks out on battle fields.
Would there be away to have Repair Stations?
I don't know why ppl don't go engy its the most useful kit if your not Sqd ldr

The commander might be able to spawn one that we could build with teh shovels Instead of sandbags maybee
LOOKED in already suggested and didn't see this.
Just cause i have low post count dosent make me a nub k

most times i can pull a tank / APC out thats in real bad condition.
But then i have to put it at a flag. then die. go engie go repair it then of i go.

Repair Station's would be really kewl.

Have some fuel barrels there that can explode under small arm's fire and blo the tank that's on it. ( Really big like maybe a Gas Tank) So commanders will have to be carefull were they put it.
It would be like bunker's only on friendly flags

Very good suggestion. I think it should be in the main base. With the wrench taken away from crewman, there's almost no way to repair your vehicle. Now if you get hit you'll have to get back to base for repairs.

crewmen haven't had wrench for a while Jonathan

I know, not very fond of it tho :(

Btw. Haven't seen any repair/support vehicle in 0.7? Are they gone too?

Yep. Engineers should fix stuff.

With crewman wrench gone and repair car gone, the last leg keeping the armor rolling has been kicked out from under the tanks force,

Having a repair pad at base makes more sense & realistic and practical then the repair system in place hang on what system there is no repair system it just chaos now.

Another idea would be just to have curtain areas where you can drive off map where you disappear of the battle field then after a few minutes you drive back on the map with full heath ammo and a simile on your face from the local brothel house.

ID like it if engineers could build tank traps though and barb wire and sand bags and sand blocks,

A fully-manned tank squad *can* operate from a firebase or bunker just fine.

Two tanks, each with two crewman operating them and an engineer in the cupola. If the engineers die (and they will, as they're very exposed), they respawn at the FOB or Bunker and the tanks fall back to re-collect them.

So long as the tanks stay relatively close to each other, both tanks have access to two engineers, who between them can fix a fairly beat-up tank reasonably quickly.

If there's no suitable bunker or firebase available, it *is* possible to place a rallypoint down and then for the squad leader to request Crewman and hop into one of the tanks; providing the engineers with a spawn point.

Granted, it can be very difficult to do on a public server, but with VOIP and obedient players it's doable and worth doing.

Repair cars were great. I don't see why they were removed.

Thats one of the problems. If I'm not playing on TG or Thors, 3/4 of the maps I go without anyone in squads having VOIP or even a commander, most of the time. And even if they had VOIP and were just quiet, theres no indication that they would do anything other then join your squad just so they could spawn a sniper or AT kit and head off on thier own to do thier own thing.

I'll repair tanks all round if that is what is required,
if my SL says do it......i do it.

There's three.

I'm not saying your idea doesn't have merit headhunter, it is a good idea.

Or make command posts be able to repair vehicles.

And I never liked the mentality that there should be a person running around repairing tanks it not thesible and it a stupid thing to expect.

People will always play for fun if you force them to do boring tasks like repairing tanks all round then thay don't do it simple, Being a engineer and running round repairing is a extremely undesirable task that no one wants to do and mostly wont do it.

You can't expect people to do stuff that is not fun in a video game or force them to do boring tasks by taking away the repair trucks, all that does is destroy the repair system and make it so you don't get repaired at all or if your lucky you find that you get repaired after an hour wait so to say.

It seems you guys want a game that is not about fun and is about digging holes in the ground all day and clean toilets for example.

Me. Spent a whole round driving a truck once too... Wouldn't want to do it all the time though.

Obviously you are another person who hasn't grasped the concept of teamwork,
I don't find it boring being a useful part of a team,
in fact i find it very rewarding helping my team.

Obviously you need to be told, so i will tell you:

To win a round of PR it takes teamwork, the word 'teamwork' encompasses a variety of different tasks ranging from (but not limited to) healing and reviving your teammates as a medic, giving ammo as a rifleman, destroying tanks/APC's with the L_AT/H_AT so your troops are free to assault/defend, repairing friendly tanks when they are damaged so they are able to destroy enemy targets for you and your team, covering your teammates when moving etc etc etc.....

You will not win a round of PR if your whole team just tries to kill things, if your only idea of "fun" in PR is to kill things, without being nasty, i suggest you just go play vBF2 because there... teamwork doesn't matter and pretty much every player is just trying to get points and kills for themselves.

Maybe next time before you go passing judgment on someone for what they find entertaining, you should have a good look at yourself first.

I really liked the supply/support trucks. They're at least as realistic as having an engineer running around fixing the tank. They were especially useful on large maps like Kashan where it is hard for engineers to get around. Support trucks should be brought back. Just don't make them very common.
