Weapon loadouts on the J-10 and EF-2000

Hey, got a small question. How come the Eurofighter and the J-10 are so lightly armed in Qinling? The J-10 can support from 8-11 weapon stations, and the Eurofighter can support up to twelve.

I've said this in another thread, but I want to focus more on the playload of the J-10 and Eurofighter. I don't know as much about the J-10 as I do the Eurofighter, but I'm pretty damn sure the Eurofighter could support 6 1000lb bombs, 2 AIM-120s and 4 AIM-9s. The J-10 could support similar, with 5/6 bombs, 4 PL-8s and 2 PL-11s.

I'm all for making these two great jets as good as they could be. They'd be a lot more useful with 6 bombs under the wings.

Picture of potential Eurofighter payload, I don't have a good one of a J-10, sorry.

Wouldnt maximum payload and a full tank of fuel effect handling

as far as i know planes rarely go in fully armed anywhere. They just carry the weapons needed to complete the mission they are doing.

I don't know if you've noticed, but the jets already move like they have a full payload and fuel...

they are loaded out like they are now cos we want to keep them as fighter jets, to gain air superiority which is there main role in r/l and not be used as bombers much. Keeping weapon ammo low for ground attack means lots of landings for rearming is needed and as these things are VERY effective weapons when used in the right way we dont want to have the vBF2 spammy jets that are constantly spamming w/e they want and racking up the kills endlessly.

in game, umm not really they use the empty weight and turn twice as fast as the should, cus jets really shouldnt be on kashan, the smallest map they should be on is wake island 8x8km, so untill that map comes out then the jets will not be able to turn real or go super sonic. cas knows how much can fit on each jet and had some of the jets tweaked so they would be carrying better things. if you post in this thread cas could put it in and if some people would like to test we could to see if the lay out would work.

They already have quite a number of weapons to use, I'd say that what the DEVs did to reduce spamminess is right.

In my experience, the armement on the two jets is enough to be an effective air superiority fighter and pop down once in a while to bust an enemy position. It's balanced enough and doesn't need to be changed.

True, now that you mention it, more payload might make it too easy to spam the one laser-guided target you can hit with bombs at a time.

Personally, I think it'd be cool to see a Tornado GR4 and a Chinese attack jet replace one EF-2000 and one J-10, respectively :D

IMO a mix of one j10/tornado air superiority and one j10/tornado ground attackwill be perfect .

nah we'd have planes winning the rounds then. I think it's perfect right now, and i fly jets on qinling every chance i get. They're already pretty powerful. It sucks that only about 1/4 the time I'm in air I actually get any laser designating from ground troops :(

planes win the batles IRL (or at least , ensure a win), if there is no air superiority , there no armor and personal suport .

Currently as is on the map "The Battle of Qinling" the jets are balanced well in respect to Air-to-Air armaments and Air-to-Surface laser guided bombs.

The 2 medium range and 4 short range Air-to Air missles are an adequate load out for the air superiority role. If 6 missles doesn't take anything down I'm not sure what to tell you. Along with 2 laser guided bombs for removing armor assets will still prove to be useful providing that the pilot properly maintains an adequate AGL (Above Ground Level not Altitude.) between 500m-2000m above his/her target and drops the payload just 50m-150m prior to flying over the target based upon your distance and height from your objective.

Also it's best to leave it as is because currently with only 2 laser guided bombs on hand it will require pilots to do more sorties and land more frequently as a test to having skilled pilots capable of landing the aircraft. If we start putting 6 bombs on an aircraft, who'd care to land? Most likely we'd begin to see people using jets as a disposable craft where they drop their 6 bombs, fire off 2 missles hoping they kill the target then bail out over main base, grab a sniper kit and run off to wait 20 minutes to do it again.

We already deal with enough issues of people going "zomgwtfpewpewlazer A-10Warthog!". Soon as people begin to understand that it's not the aircraft alone that makes it legendary. It's the pilots skill that makes them untouchable.

It's imperative that you possess the will and/or ability to conduct the following while utilizing a Close Air Support jet:
Communicate - Make sure you have an officer in your squad so that he can speak to the commander, designate targets and inform you of enemy movements. When your flying, you cannot possibly do all this by yourself as you must remain focused.
Discipline - Do not go looking for trouble as it will find you first in the form of a Surface-to-Air missle.
Patience - Remain on standby until your called for on a specific target.
Vigilance - Be attentive to detail, paranoia is your ally in the cockpit. Look around and be aware of your surroundings as much as possible.

The J-10's carrying most of what the EF2000 didnt take, but yeah, full payload for both =P

id rather have more aim-120s to honest, i find bombs very difficult to use o qinling and im more of a fighter pilot anyway.

This.

I also want to see an F16 with a ground attack load out as well as the pure air superiority version. Also, I don't understand why our jets have drop tanks, the range distances they fly are so short they may as well loose them and bolt on some additional ordinance instead.

Tanks are now free to spam.
They also get free points for just being with another squad member.
