Basrah has been handed over to the Iraqi Army (in real life), seems like if the Devs really want reality, they need, IRAQI ARMY vs INSURGENTS

and a new faction would be fun. allways fun with new weapons vehicles etc.

Wouldn't the Iraqi force just be the MEC skins but with the same weapons as the insurgents and humvees? Not much work involved in that and probably not worth it anyway. If someone has a community map with such a faction in mind - knock yourself out

there are at least 4 community mod projects in the works now, plus militia, insurgents, US army, US marines, MEC, and PLA.
i think we're good for factions for a LONG time


but the concept of an iraqi army sounds cool.

I think the devs are probably feeling like they have enough work going on already. But hey, they're only developing one mod, why not double their workload? Sorry for the sarcasm, but the reality is that adding a new and interesting team would be a buttload of work, and the Devs haven't had time to complete all the current teams. Give 'em time.

This is never going to happen IMO. This is a British mod and Basrah is one of the most representative British maps out there. I'm all for realism but highly doubt that this is even being taken in consideration.

Don't be so certain jayceon. Last I checked, this isn't a "British Mod".

An Iraqi Faction would be different from the others and would be an interesting addition.

What we would need before making such a faction would be some solid info regarding what rifles, vehicles, etc that they use.

no, what has happened is that when the british left basrah, the iraq defence force was over run with the local insurgants so the british have had to go back into basrah afew years in the future (when PR is set) to clean up the mess, again

Funny i suggested that the devs make an iraqi police faction. But then i found out they had they're hands full for .6 so i should go get a team and make it. I was going to but sadly i have no skills with photoshop to reskin the models.

@the-the-person-who-said we need new radio commands: Im pretty sure Iraqi Terrorist arabic is the same as Iraqi police Arabic, hm?

Anyways, If PR is going for realism, they need a Iraqi force, and in the future a Afgani force if helmand is ever given to those zainy afganis

I mean, all we need is a few new skins here and there, give the iraqies a forest camoflauge humvee or two, change their cloths and givem some tanks, and kazaam,wizzam, SHIZAM, you gots the iraqi army

not atall really, they would use pretty much completely different everything

Are you all assuming that when Basrah is 'back in the hands of' Iraq that the people will kill its own army?
