how about some sandstorms that actually blow around and get into your face?

Sounds pretty cool but i'm sure that's going to equal insane lag for most people. I suppose you could set it up like a smoke screen but it also could be like rain which doesn't work in the wierd and wacky world of the Bf2 engine.

So you mean like issue every player a fan with a tray of sand and hook the system up online somehow?

Desert Storm I think was the most recent name it had. I forget what the name was back in 0.4 though. I do think it was different. Isn't it a counterattack map now?

Just a dumb question about "that" map.

The gate CP, i had to drive a HMWWV up a hill to get over, i could blow it up, i tried with C4, APC everything !

So, the question is, how ?

You can C4 the gate. Or you could C4 the front of a hummer, and depending on server regulations, jihad that mother.

PR has volumetric clouds[or something similar] correct? Is kashan, a layer of cloud... is that possible to pull down to earth and layer a bit thicker, have it dynamically move around, even on a set path, and not cause massive lag?

IDK... the clouds could be sttic and it could be impossible for all I know...

Al fallujah had a sandstorm, and anybody with a average setup should've been able to run that map smoothly so IDK why it was removed. Good map, I like preset harsh weather conditions. We need some snow/blizzard maps ASAP.

C4 mate, it works (...or should I say worked) :D

... but AFAIK there was also an artillery strike for the USMC and I'm pretty sure because I've had a chance to request it ... Can you imagine all those civies flying around :D

Why not just blow sand in your face as you are playing.

I'm all for wasteland's idea. As a matter of fact, when playing desert maps I will now hook up an industrial fan to a bucket of sand for ultra-realism.

FH2 has sandstorms on specific areas of maps , the south flag in supercharge its a good example.

Active weather would wreak havoc on some people's PCs, but what's the point where you cater to the greatest common factor (people with decent rigs), rather than bending to the lowest common denominator (people whose PCs couldn't handle it)?
