do land mines usually differ in strength? Cuz i saw 2 videos of two different landmines, heres the weaker one

and heres another one. On second thought i think this is not your typical landmine, it looks buffed with explosives, but that would be an amazing add for insurgents on mestia map (sry for spelling)

First one was an IED buried too deep.

To answer you question, yes landmines differ in shape and sizes depending on the purpose.

Also, neither of these videos are of landmines. They are both IEDs. IEDs are "improvised explosive devices". They are manufactured by amateur bombmakers. So of course there will be variation.

ah, sry wateland, but i saw the same video on a news channel and they disticntly said it was a landmine, i thought it was an IED since it went off on the side and wazs not triggered by the first car, but since the news cast said it was a land mine i guessed maybe it had a weird delay after the first car went by it. It still looked cool, lol.

That second clip is just about the only thing that has upset me much on the internet.

Nothing is more upsetting to me than knowing that the military personel in that hummvee left behind kids, spouses, family and friends. They died fighting the terrorist threat that endangers all of us, and if you may be one of those people that hate America, imagine this happening on your streets, to your unarmed civilian friends. No one is immune to these guys.

And unfortunately I do not believe the majority of the public could muster the morale to maintain a long sustained war against this threat. Its a threat that may never be defeated.

Yeah, I'm with dune on that one. Looked really nasty, but they were taking guys out on stretchers.

As far as mines go, there are a lot with varying sizes and power. Most western militaries don't use them, as they tend to kill a lot of civilians.

Probably looked more impressive than it was. Judging by the dirt, it was burried fairly deeply, so I asume that the blast was absorbed by the underside. The Humvee was still whole too. Still, nasty stuff.

You do know that those so called "terrorists" have family too and they are not professional soldiers. They are normal people like you that stood up to fight the occupation of THEIR homeland. Thats right, THEIR homeland. Iraq is not American, Iraq is Iraqi, its ARAB.

Plus do you really expect insurgents with old rusty Ak-47s and some homemade bombs to fight THE *********ING USA head on? What kind of idiot would do that? They are underpowered, and must change their tactic accordingly.

How the hell do you think you got your independence from britain? Standing up and fighting "with honor and dignity" agains the british army? HA HA HA. America pretty much invented guerilla tactics.

Actually, I was surprised (pleasantly) that the cameraman for the second video, or his insurgent buddies, didn't move in to intercept the medevac. If they had, that situation would have become a whole lot uglier, perhaps even capture/torture/execution of the survivors and the medical personnel.
