Hi there,
I used to play a lot with this marvellous rifle, it was awesome, I was so trained I could kill a yankee even 1 kilometer from me, I used to love the feeling of killing 15 rangers without being discovered, they didn´t have a clue where the shots were coming from.
Now I don´t know what PR crew did to this rifle, it´s even worse than shooting with a pistol. You can aim, hit and cause more damage throwing stones than with this marksman rifle.
Please guys, the SVD is the 8th world wonder, Russian engineer at it´s best. This info is from SVD (rifle) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

- Effective range: 100 to 1000 m/328 fps to 3200 fps sight adjustments for point targets.
- Maximum range: 1000 to 1300 m/3200 fps to 4300 fps sight markings for area targets.
- Feed system: 10-round detachable box magazine.
- Sights: PSO-1 telescopic sight and iron sights with a sliding rear tangent.

Can someone explain me if the range is up to 1300 m. why I cannot kill someone at even 100 m. ????
I understand that bullet deviation is a MUST and I´m not against it. But one thing is reality and other thing is making people that play with this rifle have less fun than playing Vanilla...
I hope that you fix the, in my opinion, worse bug EVER.
Thank you for making the only computer game I play, thank you for making this incredible drug called Project Reality.
Cheers

DMRs and Snipers were unwittingly broken in .7 and the issue will be corrected soon.

Move along.

From round to round this weapons aim seems to change, one round it was really bad, the next it was really accurate :S :D

1. DM/Sniper rifle deviation is a little bit fuber atm. it's fixed for the patch.

2. In RL, the reason the SVD is so effective up those ranges is because of all the information displayed on the reticle and how it works. However, this information is meaningless without proper ballistics trajectories which we don't have in the BF2 engine.

We're using "little" in a geologic sense, right? "Why yes! Just a little while ago the Earth was a big ball of molten rock!"

The ****ed-upness of the DM and Sniper kits is a known issue, and will be fixed in the next patch.
