Honestly, shouldnt fire base's differ from a bunker?

In real life, a firebase is an OFFENSIVE structure usually with mortars ( i know these have been suggested) but how about adding a machine gun on all 3 sides? This could actually make them useful for defense (guarding choke points) and making them different than bunkers.

Cause ATM there really isnt a big difference. Of course it would be better if the firebase had a mortar in it but i know those are still being worked on. Machine guns however are available right now.

Sounds good. I think tow emplacments was considered at one point but had problems, same might be true for other objects

It sounds good, but i remember on another thread ther is a problem adding LMGs to to the commanders assets- a technical issue rather than a gameplay issue.

I dont see a technical problem cause you can deploy the AA gun and that is a mannable weapon. Im sure its possible.

I think we can all agree now that these assets get used a lot more they need to be more as they would irl i.e. Bunkers being a FOB for the CO as such and firebases being used as a more offensive outpost for the frontlines.

I would like these defenses so we can actually hold on at a firebase and defend with some mounted machine guns or Soooomething!!!

I agree, there needs to be more of a difference between the two. Maybe you could change the types of assets that could be spawned near them? Like you can spawn a mortar next to the firebase but not next to the bunker, or you can spawn a minefield in front of a bunker, but only barbed wire for the firebase, etc.

I definitely think some defensive additions would be nice, and I'm pretty sure the only problem with the LMGs staying is that they need to be made destructible, like the AAAs and ATGMs. I don't know how hard that would be though.

Although giving FBs LMGs will make people use them, which in turn will lead to the enemy finding them that much faster. So it's not a fantastic way of doing things.

I suggested changes to the firebase before, all where popular with the people but received no Dev-Support.
