Afaik the SOFLAM will Stick to certain things, especially edges.

Often I'm lasing a tank or something and the target is 10 feet in the air or something, but it'll stick and follow the tank, Other times it may choose to stick to a particular bush.
If it dosn't "stick" after tracking for a couple of seconds then itll just vanish.

Would like to know more about what is going on in the SOFLAMs mind though.

Yup, this is definately a problem. Ghost is my target designator when we play together, and I have to say that this happens often enough to become a problem. Being in the air the entire time, I've never really been able to figure out the problem.

Have you tried it at different ranges Ghost? I've heard the SOFLAM does have a range limit for painting targets.

What I usually do is point the tip of the arrow at an enemy tank, click my mouse and hold it just long enough for a box to appear and stay (usually withing 1, 2 seconds at most). If I can get the laser to actually stay on the tank, then it'll move as the tank moves, providing for an excellent designation.
