All of my idea's in one Thread...

Ok I have lot's of idea's that I'm sure would greatly improve the gameplay in Project Reality.

Idea 1
I have mentioned this first idea before, in this Post. This Idea consists of choosing different Kit loadouts for the Spec Ops kit, by including
one additional Left Click in the T menu... So that after you have Left clicked "Special Operations" you will see this:
Image
(Obviously, a choice between FlashBang and Grappling Hook is just an example).

Idea 2
Make it so that only Spec ops should be allowed to go anywhere in an enemies Main Base without getting the "Return to Battlefield soldier" Shouted in their ear. (I.e. On Zatar Wetlands you can't assault the carrier due to the "invisible" boundaries of death :-) around Landing Sites and the Carrier, therefore you can't assault it :( ).

Idea 3
Reduce the height of the runways on Kashan and Qinling. I'm having currently having problems getting onto the runway with my F16 at US Airfield on Kashan. And may I ask why Runways are so high up on Qinling?

Idea 4
Please! Please Bring back the doors inside the tunnel on Operation Ghost Train. This was a challenging and fun obstacle to defend/attack Tunnel around. looking back, I can remember "Close the doors!!!" getting shouted down VoiP. :-)

Idea 5
I noticed in the BF2/PR "Options", you get a feature called "Auto Reload". I tried turning this off for a round of project Reality... and Damn does it make a difference! Just that simple option can make project reality feel even more... Realer  .
Maybe make the Auto Reload feature disabled Permenantly in the next patch?

Idea 6
When I was flying the littlebird I noticed there was infact 2 compases on the HUD, one was the standard white one at the bottom of the screen and the other was a green one just above the center. This gave me the idea... Why not replace all the standard white compasses with a compass displayed in the middle of the screen, similar to the LB one for the following vehicles: Tanks/APC's Gunners, Transport/Light Choppers. Although changing the colours of the on screen compass to that of the already existing HUD colour. (i.e. Challenger tank could have a On screen compass just above/below the CrossAir in Red).

Idea 7
I noticed on this youtube video that they have installed some type of mounted gun on the Merlin Helicopter. How about including this in Project Reality?
Just In case your computer can't run Youtube: Image Format

Other Suggestions
o Make a new littlebird equivelant for the British, like the Gazelle
o Make more Night Maps

I like your thoughts, (execpt for brit little bird (gazelle?) it has been suggested so many times.

Night maps appear to be bugged, wait for patch.

I like the selection screen you propose, however it must be kept reasonable.

I somehow like the idea of the sub-kitselection, could be used for, like already said, different kits and maybe some really different special operations (maybe one stealth with hook and silenced pistol and one explosives with C4, flashbangs and SLAMs?)

Auto reload? You can just turn it off, or are we talking about different stuff?

I like the Anti auto-reload idea.

In RL, a soldier's weapon wouldn't automatically reload itself after the magazine is empty.

I would like to choose between Spec Ops with parachute and Spec Ops with grappling hook, instead of the one with flashbangs.

Yes but they should make it compulsory to have Auto Reload switched off. :-)

And then the lil vBF2 nublets will "uberhaxor" a notepad file and allow it to be enabled ...

but +1 for all of those ideas !

think you just need to take

ObjectTemplate.ammo.reloadWithoutPlayer 1

away from every weapon, so it would be very easy to change.

Surely they can hardcode it or something... :-)

EDIT: Spoke too soon :-)

Yeah, but tbh its not that important to gameplay, so anyone who was petty enough to change it would only have the tiniest of advantages, while everyone else has a more realistic experience.

Those are some good ideas, I like the sub-kits and the anti-auto reload.

Hopefully the DEVs won't touch the auto reloading, it should remain optional. That way the "reality" freaks can turn it off and the others can have it on.

Mmmmm, I either disagree with or just don't care about all of those. I especially disagree with extra kits that have VERY little differences, seriously how useful is a damn fb to where you need a new kit for it? I say just remove them completely from the mod so the spec ops could get grapple and officer could get other officer type things like green smokes.

My Product Design teacher always said "Better putting down some idea's than no Idea's at all!"

You are aware that the "reality freaks" you refer to are the DEVs, yes?

Features get included in the mod not because the community ask for them. They get included because the Devs want them in the game.

Likewise, if the Devs like the suggestion of what I am going to call MANUAL RELOADING (whoa, how much easier is THAT than "anti-auto-reload", guys? :p ), they'll add it.

Devs = Reality Freaks.

I would have to disagree there, most are just deving a reality based game. :p

Anyways, imo, the auto-reload feature is more realistic than pressing a button to reload. Soldiers don't do that in real life either. If you're wondering why it's more realistic, well, it's just smoother while having to press a button will interrupt your flow. I think in real life the movement of reloading would be pretty smooth and wouldn't feel all uncomfortable to do, it might be almost like an automatic reaction anyways.

I was referring to the users who spend ridiculous amounts of time suggesting ridiculous ways of making the game "real" but that often forget that this is a game and nothing more. People seem to confuse PR as a military or war simulator. On the other hand, I'm fully aware that PR isnt made for the community or the gamers but for the DEV's themselves. And even if the whole PR community were to be alienated and there were only 1 server online, you'd still see some DEVs playing. As for my previous post, I guess it's just wishful thinking on my part.

I don't know about you guys, but I reload after every fire fight, as I assume so do most people, I don't think I've ran dry on a magazine in ages, and don't even know if I have auto-reload on.

I like the sub kit idea, but that would mean twice as many kits, or only one of each
(example: on a map there are 2 spec ops kits, either both have to have grapple, or one has grapple one has flashbang. I think it would work like this)

Just a small correction, it's

ObjectTemplate.ammo.autoReload 1

that needs to be taken away actually. And yes, I think it should be taken away.

Oh and the loadouts selection idea is great, but it should be for other kits too. Would be great to choose between a hand grenade and a smoke grenade(for example).
