Ok, this is a bit different from the squad leader officer kit, it's like SF I guess, but they can't do as much stuff, no explosives or anything, just a soflam, a bunch of smoke grenades if they need to extract, and a carbine. No silenced pistol, since this is a guy whose operating with the rest of the team, unlike the SF who might be wtih his squad, but they aren't giong for the same objectives. This would be a guy who would sit on a hill on like kashan and laser target the tanks coming in to shoot up the bunkers
No parachute though because than it's just a smaller SF kit

What do you think?

Unnecessary since there are plenty of soflams with the team who aren't operating behind enemy lines.

"Just a smaller SF kit" - why not just use the SF/SL kit?

Because you can't have like 50 SF kits, and only SL can get officer kits
The point is so ground attack aircraft aren't sitting in the air waiting for a sl who may or may not be engaged with his squad at a flag to lase a target, the FO can sit on a hill and watch while the SL leads

I think there are plenty of SOFLAMs out there, people just need to use them. Communicate with SLs and you should have no trouble finding targets.

Forward Observers/Forward Air Controllers have been suggested before.
