How about when the insurgents fire an Rpg, "Allahu Ackbar" sounds on the radio command.
Just to add atomosphere, and at least it beats kids typing it in chat the whole game.

i suggested this already a while back, and i still think it would be awesome to have in-game, my suggestion though was to have it as a selectable radio command, that could only be used twice per life to keep spamming down. i also suggested a different yell for each faction, such as the marines being able to yell "oo-rah" etc. but there was too much controversy over it being "not politically correct" and "racist" and it became pretty heated and the devs basically said its not gonna happen. oh well...

No, The whole saying is not used when a RPG is just fired. Its used when liek a sniper shots a US or UK soldier and kills or wounds them.

It could be instead of the commo rose option of "grenade".

and when they fire RPG's and set off IED's and fire Aks... pretty much anything they do.

Could be touching sensitivities that create the wrong impression of the game, cause furour in the US senate again much like that old vBF2 video with the Team America soundtrack over.

Some things have to be considered hands-off I feel.

Hahahah, yeah. But on the "correct" side of things surely a groups that indulge in Insurgent style ambush tactics wouldn't be so stupid as to give away their positions like that, I'm sure praising Allah comes after a successful attack rather then during one.

I agree....but I also think that ALL religions should be represented in the game in that case.

political correctness is ruining the way history or events are told through things like the media, a while ago i heard a news story that claimed a school had avoided teaching the holocaust because "it might offend muslim pupils". Now i agree with a certain level of correctness so you don't end up being racist, but blowing it out of proportion is just silly.
i don't particulary want this in game though, it seems unnessecary compared to the gameplay value it would give. I am content with typing in ALLAHU ACKBAR into the chat, so it's a no from me...

Was there any political correctness crisis when the sniper in Saving Private Ryan was quoting the Bible and praising God from that tower? 'Allahu Akbar' is basically the same thing. Where one of our snipers might say 'Oh (insert deity/pantheon here), help me', an insurgent might whisper Allahu Akbar - 'God is great...'

i would further debate this with everyone, since i would like to see it in-game, but like i said before every previous suggestion for this, including mine, has been shot down by the devs. so in other words, its pointless.

Im Muslim and I dont find it offenseve at all. Its not like your treading on politically unstable ground here. Allah Akbar means God is Great, nothing more nothing less. And us muslims say it literally for EVERYTHING. Hell my dad says it when he gets up from the couch lol. It really isnt offensive at all and if you do add it which i think would be great, add it for the MEC too. MEC are muslims too after all.

btw, the Insurgency Mod for Half life 2 has it when your insurgents, and you throw a grenade, you automatically yell Allah Akbar. It adds so much to the atmosphere. And they didnt have a problem with it being "politicaly incorrect".

With all the cool stuff we can add to the game why would you want the devs to waste time with this?

Its not just the work, but also the fallout in the forums, mod community and possibly politically.

If its that important to you, make it a rule on ur squad VOIP to yell allahu ackbar everytime you kill som1.

Otherwise it really isn't necessary.

@gclark03 the big deal is that this isn't a passive observation of som1s interpretation of war, this is active participation in a simulation.

Because "Allahu Akhbar" is used for pretty much the same situations as a westerner might use "Oh my god/lord", or a similar western phrase. For instance, when an older man is trying to get up out of the couch, as Dragonfire described.

Using the phrase "Allahu Akhbar", and believing that you'll "recieve" 72 virgins
upon commiting massmurder, is in no way or form linked with each other.

If you believe that you'll recieve such rewards upon commiting such acts, you're a terrorist minority, of a certain religious conviction, that happens to be based on the Q'uran.

Also, it's safe to say, you've suffered one of the biggest cons in human history.

("Who the hell would want to f*** a virgin anyway...", is just the smallest of these inconsistencies. And even *that* is just from dissecting the idea in the context of religion. )

The devs could consider putting it in for the insurgents. The MEC are a secular army, though, from what I've understood.

Either, or, really... It might add some atmosphere to Insurgent maps, who knows. Think there are things of higher priority that deserves attention, to be honest.
