Yeah, that was me. I apologize to the Americans for my atrocious piloting. Honestly, I'm a competent transport pilot. I've spent about 10 hours doing various drills on a local server. The thing is, I've never really seen a Blackhawk drop supplies before, so I didn't expect to get blasted with supply requests like that. I'll spend another hour or 3 working on the dynamics of supply drops. More precisely: how far can a crate drop before it's destroyed.

Actually, I'm quite proud of the training course I applied. I started in Kashan with the very basics. Takeoff, level flight, high speed flight, landing, and turns, in that order. The turns in particular were interesting, I flew loops around and through the four radio towers in the bunker complex. Then I went to Jabal for some more advanced landing practice, and stunts. Landing on slopes (including what slopes were possible) and various tricks around the dam. I did manage the famous dam pipe. I also managed once or twice to fly through the capture zone at the very bottom, which is quite difficult. Then I went to Zatar for some rather extreme landing practice.

Not that I like to brag, but I'll do it anyways: if this was 2142, your jaw would drop watching me in the transport craft. Seeing me on Suez Canal in particular will make you find Jesus. But Jabal...that was bad. I've been a long time lurker, but that was so bad I had to create an account to apologize on the forums.

Good on you for actually training for the chopper role! Many ppl new to PR just jump in and immediately flip the chopper with a full load. Don't worry about an accident or 2, it happens to everyone.

I appreciate the invite, Nero, thanks. As for units, I dropped a crate from what I believe was approximately 2 meters in the air, maybe less. Though I'm not certain if it slid down a hill after that.

It's not so much that they're angry, by the way. It's more that I acknowledge screwing the pooch.

Indeed it is good to practice on a local server first. I can fly myself pretty well all the helicopters however I always get shot down

I just scan the server list for an empty one with helicopters once in a while, you can get some good practice just flying around on an empty Jabal map for half an hour.

You basically have to land to drop a crate afaik

Some tips from my experience last night with you flying us around stitsimba:

1. You should be in a dedicated squad so you can put a move marker where you need to go. I think you were in one, not sure. If you were not the SL, then make sure your SL knows what needs to be done and talk to the commander. If I hear from the commander that there's a transport squad ready for extraction, that gives me more confidence that you know what you are doing and makes the job of telling where to go easier, as I can ask the commander to give you a move order, instead of having to type in the chat.

2. When picking an organized squad (like mine last night), wait for the squad leader to tell you where to go before taking off. I had to tell you 3 times where I wanted to go, and you did some pauses in mid air to see where it was, and a lot of stuff can happen in that moment (lose control, get shot, etc). Make sure you have the flight plan defined before you take off. Here is also useful to have communication with the commander since you can ask for known enemy locations and stuff like that.

3. Don't fly directly to the CPs. I asked you to drop me west of the dam in that flat area on top, but at first you started moving directly towards the dam. Even if it's clear, it's not a good move since we need to set an RP, so it's better to do this before the attack. But after I typed in all caps where I really wanted you to land, you stopped moving to the CP and moved to the correct location, so that's good.

Anyways, those are my tips for you and basically any other player that wants to be a good transport helicopter pilot in PR. Keep it up
