Feature Request: Sequential Orders

I've been thinking that it's a bit of a pain in the *** being a squad leader and holding your squads and when giving them orders %100 of the time.

I'd like to be able to give a series of orders, in the form of way points, to my squad so that we set up a battle plan and everyone knows what they're expected to do next. For example:

You want your squad to move around the back of an objective, but you want them to keep a wide berth. You aren't confident that your squad knows what they're doing (being in a public server) so you want to be %100 clear with them where you want the to go. You want to give them the graphical representation of where you want them to go, but this involves constantly changing the move markers. Having the ability to set multiple move markers would assist in this.

Announce to the squad that at each move marker they WILL set up a defensive perimeter and wait for the "move on" command from their patrol commander. At the attack marker they will wait for the "assault" command from the patrol commander.

Set move point/rendesvous (leg 1) 150m south east of objective.
Set move point/rendesvous (leg 2) 150m south of objective.
Set move point/rendesvous (leg 3) 150m south west of objective.
Set move point/rendesvous (leg 4) 150m west of objective.
Set move point/rendesvous (leg 5) 125m west of the objective for a rally point.
Set an attack marker (leg 6) on the objective.

Thus, when the squad looks at the map they have their movements planned out and they understand where they go, they know where the RP will be and they know which direction they'll be attacking from.

See awesome paint picture below for (basic) graphical representation.

I'm willing to bet that this is hardcoded

I remember a similar system in Joint Operations, orders and waypoints attached to emotes like "code whisky, I say again code whisky" for each order.
Such a system would be nice however.

If you had searched for waypoints you probably would have gotten something. This has been discussed before, but unfortunately it is not possible.

i dont think he means waypoints i think he means new commands that come with markers, like 150m to the west and a marker is set 150m to the west of the SL

i understand but the comrose is going to get much bigger. Multiple markers is a good idea but i dont know if it its possible on the bf2 engine, i do think that having the extra commands will help.

This is actually the same thing as the commander giving multiple LZ markers
so why exactly wouldn't it be possible?

To be honest I don't understand the problem with it, as I'm not the one trying to implement it, but it has been suggested before and shot down because it can't be done. Given, LZs have been implemented, I don't know if it's possible to do the same thing just in each squad. But the official word on waypoints has been they're not possible, I don't know any reason for that being changed.

Perhaps the commander should be able to put markers on the map so each squad can see where the other squad have been assigned?

Now that, i'm almost certain would be hardcoded.

Use voip for complicated orders.

hm... So, SLs cannot place multiple move-markers?

darn.

Since if one COULD place multiple move markers, you could mod it slightly so that there'd be a small 1, 2, 3, etc. by the marker...

is it hardcoded for commanders to be the only ones to issue unnasigned members to create squads? effectivly giving only the commander the ability to create squads?
