Smallarms vs. Vehicle Occupants

Smallarms, especially heavy machineguns, are really incapable of hitting vehicle passengers effectively...

This is most apparent on Insurgent maps, where all too often I see insurgents able to drive through torrents of smallarms in their crappy little 20 year old sedans.

Realistically, a car offers very little, if any, protection against small-arms. Humvees and military jeeps may offer some against lighter-caliber weapons but realistically a .50 cal should punch through those things like butter.

Overall, being in a vehicle is a massive boost to your survivability, even if that vehicle is composed of little more than some plastic and 1/8th inch aluminum. The only guaranteed way of killing a guy in a jeep or sedan is to kill the jeep or sedan itself.

If you are talking about having penetration through the vehicle skin or even other obstacles, i think the engine doesn't allow it. And its a ressugestion i believe.

Well, in vanilla at least (and with the .50 Sniper rifles in PR too, afaik) it was possible to shoot at least through the windows. It is possible, but maybe just a lot of work.

i'm no code-master, but would it be possible to give the armor on light vehicles like.. the density of the tin shingles that were used in vBF2? i know those are able to be penetrated by a bullet, but like i said, i'm no codemaster
