Shooting Tactics (ASSAULT RIFLES)

I've tried both, and I'm still not sure which one is better. Are you more likely to hit your target (assuming you're at a medium range distance where you're not guaranteed to hit) when you:
a)Take 1-shot pot shots, recovering your aim between each shot?
or
b)Shoot aimed bursts at the targets?
Here's the thing: taking aimed potshots, you're probably more likely to hit what you're aiming for-- but you're still challenged by the random degree of inaccuracy, but the advantage to shooting bursts is that you're getting more bullets out there faster, meaning you could either hit the target you're aiming for or his squadmate.
Both depend on luck, to a degree, it's just that one's more likely to hit what you we're aiming for, while the other depends on one of your bullets hitting them (and if one misses, it's not a big deal because another flies out in half a second).

I never shoot burst or auto. Always have my gun on single shot I can press the button several times if i need to put more than 1 round down range.

Mostly single shot, but I'm trying to work out a pattern for single to controlled full auto. For places like rooms and alleyways it's full auto.

I actually use Burst sometimes with the M-16. But most of the time its semi. With the AK-101 and AK-47, full auto using 3-4 round bursts. It does the trick most of the time

i have a button on my mouse set for priamry weapon so i can quickley swap between semi, burst/auto. If im at long/medim range i have it set to singal, but when it comes to thous close quater moments i switch it to burst/auto before i move in, that way i can have the upper hand of putting lots of bulliets into a guy at close range with a almost certian kill

i play mostly single shot, but with the G3, SA80 and some others i keep it on auto and take 2 round bursts at long ranges. Then if i turn a corner and see a guy i have full auto to deal with it.

For most situations I use single shot, but when I charge, am going into enemy territory, or know I'm going to fight up close I use burst/auto. I've died too many times getting caught with single shot on up close to keep it on all the time.

I try to go by the same policy but I usually forget and get owned.

lol, I love the g36c. It's great for single-shot. It's practilly as powerful and accurate as a regular rifle like that.

3 round burts or full auto. I get more kills up close in urban maps easyer to win close combat fights.

m16 single shot 90% of the time. I use burst only when im going to rush.
Ak101 auto because I can still get single rounds out but have the panic fire when I need it.

Is the accuracy coded on the AK's (or any full auto weapons) to be more acurate when fired in single fire mode as opposed to firing single shots while in full auto mode? I have been doing the latter..
As for the M16 the burst fire seems plenty accurate for me at medium range.

I think its based off recoil so single shots on semi or auto are the same accuracy.

I use, full auto, and on long ranges I release the mousebutton so i still fire in 1 shot bursts.

I am getiing pretty lethal with the M16 on single now. The AK I am trying to get better with, seems the AK was better in .1 of the mod i dunno.
Only time I switch to full auto is if I know I'm going to run into someone at point blank, but even then I have managed with the single shot method and multiple tapps to the mouse button.
And it does make it alot easier mapping the 3rd weapon selector to the middle mouse if you can, for fire selection.
