If you read the changelog you'll notice it says "Support gunner ammo bag removed"

ok so a new patch came out, and obviously you downloaded it, so i take it you didnt read the changelog? the support gunner got his ammo bag taken away, probably because its not very realistic for him to have to carry around a big heavy machinegun AND an ammo bag. on the plus side, ammo is actually more plentiful now since the scoped riflemen got ammo bags and light vehicles can drop ammo resupplies now. so quit your whining.

You can suppress now!

good change

more focus on suppressing/killing

does not have to stop firing and abandon overwatch to feed the hungry LAT riflemen.

It is more realistic to have him take on the support role with the focus being more on supressing now. Its going to be harder to try and conserve your ammunition, but it should be like that.

Yeah, riflemen carry extra ammo, just like in real life.

Technically you walk into battle (where transport is not available) with your full kit, LMG and some ammo to use in it, then the typical rifle equipped infantrymen have fun carrying all their own gear, plus a bandolier of ammo containing rifle ammo (5.56mm), then a belt for the LMG, a couple of mortars, a LAT, a couple of extra grenades. As you reach the mortars (a bit behind the front line) you drop the mortars off, then you reach a point where you drop the LMG ammo, LAW, spare nades and rifle ammo off, then you move into your collection area ready to go onto the front line. The ammo you've brought is distributed where needed. At least that's what happens when you have restrictive vehicle and chopper/supplies available (like the falklands)
