Press and hold for iron-sights

Now this isn't realism-related as such, but I thought I'd still mention it. Do you guys have the possibility to change the function of key bindings? More specific; the button one uses to aim down the sight has a toggle on/off function. This is annoying, because in a panic situation I sometimes bring the sight down just to realize that I pressed to button twice and it comes up again getting me killed because you move like a snail when looking down the sight. So what's the solution? A "press and hold" function for aiming down the sight. That way, when you panic you'll automatically release the button and you can run for cover. I suppose it is more of a patch-issue, but noone seem to consider it a problem worth adressing, so I turn to you guys :-)

Agree 100%. Can't tell you how many times I've been killed trying to run because I was accidently looking down the iron sights after panicing...

It would be better if we could toggle which way we like it. I think I'd prefer te way it is now.

Agreed. I use hold for iron sights in every other game with them. I'd love an option to use it for PR

Yeah, its fine the way it is now, click on-click off. But maybe the option of holding it down for the other people would be nice.

Just don't take away the option of having it the way it is now.

Wow, so many responses! For sure a choice would be the best, all I wanted to know was if it was doable or not. As Sean Connery said in a movie; "it's impossible...but doable."

press and hold for iron singts, but when using the sniper rifle i think its a better idea to leave it clicked in as the thinger may get very tired if you are really camping

I believe it would be possible to make the iron sights a click and hold kind of thing, but I'm not sure how viable it would be as an option. As far as I know, most, if not all, of the main game menus are hard-coded. As such, it may not be possible to add an option into the in-game settings section. I would have to look into it some more to give a definate answer.

press and hold sounds really good..

on a side note i would love to see sway put in the game as its realistic
atm sights are just still all the time and there is cone spread on em insted..

ofc this would also make you dev guys or dice/ea to reword the whole aspect of aim/shooting..

an option for hold for sight definetely sounds good to me.

btw, i don't get it... why would anyone reject an option?
a replacement i can understand, but an option??? huh??
anyway it's definetely worth time spent to code it in my oppinion.
